It was a slower week at our house, which is always a good thing. I enjoy the slow pace, especially as I slow down. we have made it to the 36th week. It's crazy how fast the time has past. We really need to get on finding a name. We just haven't found a combo that speaks to us, but it will come...it always does.
We has a normal week of school. The kids continue to do well. Liam is moving fast with his work. He will be finishing up his preschool curriculum in the next couple of months. I have started some pre-reading activities with him to get him ready for reading in the new year. Lila and Hyrum both are doing really well. We had some frustrating points this week with either not understanding or just dragging feet for both of them. We are learning to preserver. Hyrum is always the trickier one, because it just takes him so long to make the connection that he is totally capable of sticking with material even if he doesn't like it. Case and point...he was invited to a birthday party on Saturday and Friday was the day that we were going to pick up the birthday present. He got up early and was half done with school by 8 am. He whipped through his most disliked subject writing like it was nothing. Usually, there is fussing that it takes too long. One day he will figure it out that if he just stopped the fussing it would take half the amount of time.
Lila is picking up gymnastics. In just a few classes she is already improving greatly. She always has a big smile on and I enjoy watching her try all the moves. She is still very distracted by the big kids and the boys are too. They enjoy watching what the older girls do. They are all very talented.
Our big event of the week was attending the preparedness fair. The church partnered with another group and it was a really big community event. Tim always describes it as a pre-Halloween. The kids love collecting little toys and candy. They also enjoy climbing on and in all the emergency vehicles. They also love it when the motorcycles are there. It's like a dream come true. The real deal is so much better than pretending on mom.
