One more week to go!

Kids will be kids...they are extremely excited for Christmas.  Every day we talk about how many days until Christmas and who saw Santa at the mall and the elves that came to visit.  We are managing to keep the academics going.  Hopefully we will be able to keep it up through this last week before the break.  A fine example can be seen below.  We have been talking about maps and communities, so we made Kinderville.  This was our map before...

And this is after the kids decided what to add to the map to make Kinderville.

I think they did a great job.  This coming week we will also have our Christmas sing for the parents.  They have worked hard and hopefully they won't be nervous.

It has been a busy week for us.  Work has been routine.  While this is my last week of work, Tim will have to work for the next two weeks, until Christmas day.  We have been busy with home and visiting teaching.  Trying to catch everyone before they leave is hard.  We went running a couple of times to look at all the lights around Center Street.  The temple is also coming along.  They have been working on the grounds.  It looks like the sprinkler system is done and they are smoothing the dirt out.  We also had our ward Christmas party.  The kids did a good job with their Christmas program.

On Friday, we went out to dinner and to look at the lights around an outdoor mall.  It was nice to not have to worry about clean up and to enjoy more of the season.  Saturday there was an elder's quorum activity that families were invited, so it was basically a ward party.  I spent the rest of Saturday running errands and working on projects that need to be done before Friday.  Tim went and helped one of the families he home teaches. and I spent time with Carolyn in the evening.

Today we are actually getting snow!  It makes if feel a little more like Christmas.  But, honestly, I rather like 50 degrees in the middle of December with no snow.
