Happy Halloween!

Another week down in Houston.  Halloween is upon us...which means mom is another year younger. :)  I had an, "Oh, heck no!" moment this week.  I came home later in the evening to find our dear neighbors seem to be confusing holidays.  As the week progressed I saw several others with lights on.  I am all for getting lights up before the weather gets cold or it snows, but in Houston we don't have the excuse!  Oh well...

In other news...we have a new addition to the apartment.  This lovely guy now sits in Hyrum's room.  It is really nice to sit in, in the middle of the night and it has a great rest for your head.  What is even better is it was the right price...free!  It think Tim is a little sad that he can't use it as much, but someday.

Tim continues to study hard.  Unfortunately, he caught my cold and has been sick all week.  It made things a little more difficult to study and stay focused.  One day we will all be healthy at the same time.  He continues to be busy with not only school, but missionary work.  He spends quite a bit of time communicating with the missionaries and staying up to date on the happenings of the ward.

For Tim and I this week we managed to get out to a birthday party.  We are so busy that we don't have time to get out and be with people.  But, let's be honest having a little person that needs to be in bed makes socializing tricky.  And to get even more honest, a tired mama is not the best of company.  As for things out of the normal routine, I made dinner on Saturday for a family that just had a new baby.  On Sunday, we both had early morning meetings.  Tim did a new member lesson in the afternoon with a French speaker.  He said it was tricky, but thank goodness for church videos in French.

As Hyrum is now six months, the doctor gave the green light for chunks of food.  I thought we would start with bananas.  He loves mushed bananas.  He kind of missed the boat on putting it in his mouth (most of it landed in his lap), so I had to help him, but it was fun to let him play and smoosh it.  I was just a messy as he was.  As a six month old, he can sit up much straighter.  He started rolling both ways and has decided that he is too cool to go to sleep.  Naps and bedtime have been more difficult, not that I have much to complain about.  It takes him 15-30 minutes to fall asleep and it really isn't a struggle.  I am just not used to him taking more than 5 minutes to be ready to go in his crib.

Today is his last day at his current daycare.  We are switching to a sister in our ward.  We are excited for the switch because she lives very close to us, which means less traveling and Tim can pick him up if he gets home earlier.  Hopefully, he will benefit from more one on one time.

Until next week and have a very Happy Halloween!
