The week went by quickly...it's hard to believe we have only been back in Texas for one week. Tim spent the week trying to get things done like papers, applications, and personal statements. He thinks he is getting close to finishing only to find he is not. He'll get there. He has a couple more days to work and then he will begin his next rotation, which is another dermatology rotation. It should be interesting and hopefully he enjoys himself and is able to shine.
As a reward for all his hard work, we made apple crisp and had some ice cream with it. I did it in the crock-pot, because I'm not sure if I have mentioned it or not, but it is HOT/Humid in Houston. It turned out well and as a testament to the fact...I tried to get Hyrum to look at the camera for a picture, but all he would say is cheese as he was spooning another bite in. That kid!
We had a hard first few days back. Hyrum slept until nine on Monday and then took a 3.5 hour nap that afternoon. Each day we got closer to his normal routine and he was a little happier each day. We didn't do much this week, as we were focusing on his sleep and getting him caught up. I started tutoring a little boy in our complex. His parents wanted him to stay caught up and not loose his English accent as his family is from India. I really enjoyed working with him. He is very advanced, so at our next session I will start teaching him to read, which is my favorite thing in the world to do! It made me excited for when Hyrum is ready.
I had my 35 week appointment. Everything looks good, so now it is the waiting game. It's crazy to think we have about a month in a half until we have an addition. With Hyrum I felt the last trimester dragged on, but this time all of the pregnancy has gone by quickly. The only downside is the summer heat/humidity. Not sure if I have mentioned recently how unpleasant it is in general, but also when you are really pregnant. :)
As a little treat to us we went to feed the ducks on Saturday. I know...we like to live on the edge! Hyrum enjoyed feeding the ducks and looking at the turtles. Honestly, I think Tim was more excited about all the turtles we saw. I guess there was about 20 at one time sticking their heads out of the water. We didn't stay out for too long, but we enjoyed doing something other than being at home in our normal routine.
We went back to our ward for the first time in over a month. We had a lot of families move into the ward, which is nice because we have and will have a lot of long term families moving soon. They also reorganized the Relief Society presidency. I still have my cush job as the secretary, so not much changed for me. I'm just grateful I wasn't made the president!
