Busy week!

The week was a busy one filled with lots errands and things to do.  We enjoyed having Tim around with his last week in the sports medicine clinic.  He was able to come home earlier on a couple of days, due to cancellations and the office being closed.  The kids enjoyed having Tim home to play with and truth be told, so did I.  He starts in the ICU next week, which is usually busy.  The hospital has been preparing for an influx of patients who are sick and taking steps to prevent the spread, by trying to handle patient needs over the phone if possible.

Our week started off much like it always does with the normal chores and daily activities.  We went to the library on Tuesday to get some new books and shopping on Wednesday.  We have been watching things progress and felt the need to prepare just a little more than we were.  That required some more planning and then trips to the store.  I was surprised at all the people at the grocery store on a Friday morning, but people are starting to take the possibility of sickness seriously and there were plenty of overflowing carts.  Luckily, we really didn't need too much and what I needed didn't seem to be what others were going for, like celery.  Random sidenote, while planning some meals I discovered that many of my recipes have the base of carrots, celery, and onions. Though the week has been busy and potentially more stressful, we have felt peace.

There are no known cases in our area, so we still went to parks.  Our new favorite park has a giant sandpit.  They kids had a blast playing in the sand. It was Lila's first experience playing in sand and it's always fun to watch her.  The kids have enjoyed lots of outside time as the weather has been in the 70s this week.  The weather seems to be getting warmer, so that is exciting.

Tim and I celebrate our anniversary on St. Patrick's day.  We did it this weekend because Tim's rotation will be really busy starting next week.  We never have time or desire to really go out to celebrate the actual day in December.  We decided to check out a local burger shop that has national ratings.  We opted to take our food to a local park and eat it outside.  It was really tasty.  The kids enjoyed getting to play and eat food other than at home.  We went to the store afterwards to get some ice cream, because that's what we do.

We were able to enjoy church at home.  Overall it went well.  We had our simple church and then Hyrum wanted to do some talks from the pulpit.  We all took turns talking about something special to us.  His sermons are always enjoyable.  We also had singing time with Grandma Kluber.  Lila enjoyed watching for a bit, but Hyrum mostly enjoyed interacting.  He's been singing about his hinges all afternoon.  After Lila went down for a nap we did family home evening, which we continued to talk about the restoration.

Things will be interesting as we adjust to the library and public parks closing down starting next week.  It will also be interesting to see how things play out out in the next few weeks.  I'll end with a funny story.  For the past several years, we have benefited from both parents downsizing their food storage.  At our house, when we need more milk, mom makes some more.  We are down to our last couple of cans and have decided to save them for a little bit.  At the store, I went to get a gallon.  Hyrum said, "You can get milk already made?!"  Poor kid!

Love it. Did Hyrum like the real milk?
