Craziness!

Well, Tim was back at work and I took one picture this week.  Overall I would say we had a good week, but we definitely had our struggles.  So, let's get down to it!

Tim was on a busy rotation in the hospital.  Things were hopping and he was home late every day.  He will have one more week with that rotation and then be on nights.  That should be very interesting to work out because Liam still sleeps in our room.  We'll see if Tim can really sleep through anything!

Hyrum and Lila started out the week on rocky ground.  They both lost crayons and pencils, because we found them coloring on the walls.  Yeah...not happy.  Maybe my memory is just foggy, but I don't ever remember having these issues when Hyrum was the age you typically see coloring on walls, yelling, biting and the list goes on.  Hyrum has been learning right along with Lila that those things are not okay.  Lila is definitely showing her terrible two side.  She is struggling to listen to us when we say no; she is two going on twenty.

But, let's not focus too much on the negatives of the week.  They really are funny and full of crazy antics.  I snapped this one this morning.  Notice Lila is wearing Hyrum's tie and belt.  Hopefully, that one doesn't come back to bite us!

Hyrum spent his mornings creating inventions.  It really is fascinating to see what he creates.  Everything has a purpose and not matter how big or how detailed he can remember what each thing's name and purpose is.  He continues to enjoy his online preschool.  He has discovered their learning games, and loves to spend extra time playing.  They also have some learning songs.  My personal favorite is the counting to 100 song.  It's hilarious and it has helped Hyrum to figure out how to transition from each group of ten.  We have also been working with Hyrum and teaching him more things.  For Christmas we got him a knife set for kids.  He has enjoyed cutting carrots and apples.  He has also mastered toasting bread and stirring eggs.  This morning Tim came out to find him setting the table for breakfast and filling everyone's water bottles.  He did everything very quietly, so we had no idea.  There may have been some ulterior motives because he asked for eggs and hash browns.

Lila has been helping more in the kitchen as well.  She has also learned to not touch hot pans.  She grabbed a frying pan because she wanted to stir.  Well, she got a nice little burn.  She continues to learn new words and she is getting more clear.  She continues to look for ways she can be independent and has moved to taking baths.  She likes to wash herself, which has come in handy with Liam being in the carrier.  She has also learned how to undress herself.  I came in one morning and she had covered herself with her blanket and said that she was cold.  Her pajamas were on the floor.  I also came in from her nap to find her shirt off.  Later I realized that her pants were inside out.  She had been doing more than just taking her shirt off.

Liam has made some great progress.  He continues to be more alert during the day.  We get some great talking sessions.  He is very interactive and smiles all the time.  He has also made some progress with sleep.  He usually gets several 4 hour stretches as night and a couple of times he did eight this week.  It was a surprise that it happened, but I was grateful.  We continue to work with him on taking naps in the crib.  He still naps in the carrier twice a day.  He has made it 50 minutes in the crib without waking up, so hopefully we continue to see progress.

I haven't done anything other than survive the week.  We have two more weeks until Tim has a easier schedule.  I try to keep things simple and not add too much to the day.  I figure as long as we have silverware and clean underwear we are doing alright.

Until next week!
