General Conference is always a fun time for us...crazy, but fun. As usual with young kids, getting something out of conference is hit or miss, but I was grateful for the chance to listen to leaders and receive impressions and reminders in between breaking up fights and trying to entertain kids.
But, we started off the week our normal routine. Tim was still working in Raleigh, and didn't get the chance to see the kids as much as the previous week. The weather has been cooler in the mornings and Lila has enjoyed riding her bike after we take Hyrum to the bus. Ever the mother hen, Lila was constantly getting off her bike to give the other kids a push. She has done really well with learning how to peddle, so after helping she just hops right back on and keeps going. Lila also enjoyed the letter "D" this week. I took her to a donut shop to choose her own. She chose a pink one and a sprinkle one for Hyrum's snack. She is starting to get the hang of letters, she still calls them numbers, but she will frequently point out the ones we have talked about and the ones associated with family names.
Liam had two teeth FINALLY come in this week. I think he has finally dropped his 10 pm feed. Now he wakes up at five am. He continues to walk along furniture. He discovered the joys of putting things in containers and by the end of the week was putting things in very forcefully finding great joy in the loudness. He also has found a new game. He likes climbing the stairs, which is nothing new. He has added the element of play. He goes up several steps and then waits until I see him and then smiles and tries to climb as many has he can before I grab him. I should be more worried, but he is just so darn cute!
This week we also got Halloween costumes for the kids. They were super excited and wearing them all weekend. Lila saw the purple princess dress and there was no other choices. Hyrum loves his super hero power ranger. Lila's dress has lots of glitter, which bring me to my new favorite Tim quote. I was sweeping up glitter on the floor and he looked at me and said, "I know! I almost turned into Prince Charming."
Conference was fun and tasty. This year I did chocolate peanut butter monkey bread for breakfast and stuffed crust pizza for dinner. We also had a brunch on Sunday with a bunch of neighbors. The kids had a blast running around with the kids. I think their favorite part of conference are the "apps" in between sessions. Hyrum for some reasons calls the ads apps and we can't break him of it. They sat and watched the messages and reports and loved it. Lila's favorite part was the organ. Any time the organ came on she just had to come sit on the couch to watch it.
Besides running errands and doing the normal above mentioned things. I had a presidency meeting this week. We had all the kids with us, so it was a little crazy. By a little I mean a lot. We called it quits shortly after Lila had an accident on carpet and a couple of kids couldn't seem to get along. Oh the joys. Any who, it's supposed to rain this week, so hopefully we can stay entertained inside. Until then!
