Christmas Fun!

We had a lot of Christmas fun this week.  This is a magical time of year, even more so with the kids.  We have been talking about Jesus and his birth.  Lila is understanding the story and the reason for Christmas.  There is plenty of "give me" still happening, but they are getting the joy of giving as well.

We'll start off with the most exciting thing we did.  We discovered a local family that goes ALL out with decorating.  They even have a local station that they sync their lights to make it a grand show.  It was a bit of a drive, but the kids loved it.  Liam even enjoyed it even though he missed an afternoon nap and it was later.  We will definitely we going back, because it was by far the best lights we have seen in a few years.

We also had our ward Christmas party.  The kids ate plenty of sugar and a little bit of lasagna.  They enjoyed all the associated excitement of parties and seeing friends other than during primary.

The kids and I listened to plenty of Christmas music and they have been wearing Santa hats and getting lots of comments.  Lila especially because she runs errands with me.  She is getting better at responding to people in public.  She will say thank you when they say they like her hat.

We also watched the Nutcracker.  Hyrum wasn't too interested in it this year, but Lila was glued to the TV.  This was her first year watching it and it was magical.  She was dancing like a ballerina afterwards.

Tim finished up nights and then went into a study week.  He struggled with flipping his schedule, so the week was a haze for him.  He will be working with different doctors treating sports related injuries.  It will be different from what he normally does.

My big accomplishment was wrapping all the presents.  It took me a while, but I got it done.  The next morning we had several conversations about how we don't open presents and how we have to wait until Christmas.  This led to lots of questions of if it was Christmas yet.  We have one more week of school and then Hyrum will be on Christmas break.  The days are going by so quickly.  It will be Christmas before we know it!  Until next week!
