Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

I did much better with pictures this week...it makes it so much easier to remember what happened!  Hyrum didn't have school on Monday, so we made Monday a Saturday and played all day.  We did a lot of outside play time, because the weather was so nice.  Tim finished his rotation late that evening.

Tuesday Tim went into his "nication" week.  Every six weeks he has a week break before or after a week of nights.  This go around he will be doing two weeks of sports medicine, which he is excited about.  His schedule hasn't been flexible enough for him to get some time in the clinic, so it will be good.  We were inside most of the day because of rain.

Wednesday was sunny and we celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday.  Lila and I did Dr. Seuss for preschool this week.  Typically, we do something green, but this year we added something new.  In the one of his books he has schlopp with a cherry on top.  I always think it looks like ice cream with a cherry, so we got green ice cream, Lila and I made whipped topping and we put a cherry on top.  The kids loved it for snack.  We then had green eggs and ham (bacon) for dinner.  Tim isn't a huge fan of eggs, so we modified so he could have a Seuss breakfast burrito.

The rest of the week past quickly with Liam popping in his last molar.  We have two more teeth to go and we have a break until his two year molars some in!  I spent a lot of time helping a sister with health insurance.  I also managed to get the summer clothes out, so they have shorts for our 80 degree days.  Oh, and I have been going through boxes again getting rid of things we don't use and managed to get through kid clothes.  Lila gave private and public vocal performances and Hyrum counted down the days to a friend's birthday party.  I failed to mention that on Monday we took Hyrum to get a birthday gift for said party.

Friday was beautiful and sunny.  I spent a lot of time outside again with the kids.  Lila and Liam did a lot of digging and just plain getting dirty.  I ended up picking up Hyrum from school, so he could go to the party.  It was for a neighbor boy who plays with Hyrum a lot.  He is now 11.  I knew Hyrum would be the youngest.  There was Hyrum and all the rest were 10/11 year olds.  He was really hesitant at first introducing himself to the big kids, but after a while he warmed up.  He seemed to just tag along with the rest of the kids and it didn't seem to bother him or them at all.  I went out to get him and he came running with his Lego creation party favor bursting with excitement and energy.

We had a super fast turn around, like 45 minutes fast, eating dinner doing baths and getting the older two to a movie party.  We have some neighbor friends that are just cool like that planning fun things.  They were super excited to eat treats and stay up way past their bedtime.

Saturday was sunny and warm!  Tim played soccer in the morning and I played outside with the kids all morning.  Tim came home walking like he had advance several decades.  He's very out of shape and hasn't been able to play or exercise regularly in years.  He still had fun.  We took the kids to a playground that recently opened after being renovated.  They had a blast running around doing what kids to best.

Liam is getting a taste of the world now that he is mobile and he loves it.  His favorite thing was the teeter totter chairs.  He said in them for about 20 minutes as time pushed him up and down.

We had a pretty great Sunday compared to what we have had the last few weeks.  There was a lot less fussing and crying from kids not wanting to go to church.  Maybe it was the weather or maybe it was the sweet white shirts I found for the boys.  You would not believe how hard it is to find plain white shirts.  Liam sized up with his shirt and Hyrum just didn't have one and he desperately needed pants...they were well above the ankle.  Lila was super cute in primary singing her little heart out to Give Said the Little Stream.

Until next week!
