Happy St. Patrick's Day

It was another one of those weeks where lots happened, but it was all a blur.  The weather was more spring like this week.  I've started taking the younger two out for an hour or two in the mornings to run.  Everyone gets to go out in the afternoon when Hyrum gets home.

Hyrum had a better week.  We did a lot of a talking about what happened the previous week and he took his consequences.  He spent a fair amount of time during the week planning to catch a leprechaun.  I always love the energy and excitement.  Tim commented on how this might need to be his last year, because he's getting more elaborate with sensors and levers to catch a leprechaun. We were able to convince him to stick with a sensor and lever free trap.  He was very excited when a leprechaun came.  He played some tricks that both kids loved seeing and fixing them.  Their favorite was probably his use of their bathroom to take a restroom break.  I guess even leprechauns need to take a break.  Unfortunately, Hyrum came home sick on Thursday and stayed home from school on Friday.  He's on the mend, but stayed home today from church.

Liam had a rough week.  We took away his pacifier last week when he was sick.  He did well while he was sick, but he seemed to get worse the better he felt.  It took about a week of him crying himself to sleep to get to the point where he will chat to himself and then fall asleep.  He also seemed to struggle with transitioning to different cycle, so his naps were about 40 minutes.  He seems to have figured out how to transition without his pacifier, so we are getting longer naps and happier babies.  We have discovered that Liam loves Mexican.  He is going through a picky phase and we struggle to get him to eat.  We never seem to have trouble when it's Mexican.  I made some enchiladas this week and after several days of struggle he was eyeing them long before dinner.

Liam has turned out to be my most clingy fussy baby.  He always likes to be held and unfortunately will not be distracted.  If it's not me holding him he cries...loudly.  I broke down and got a backpack for him.  It's been good so far, minus the hair pulling.

Lila enjoyed lots of outside time.  She has plenty of scratches on both legs to prove it.  We were joined my neighbor kids, which Lila loves.  She is attempting to learn to ride her bike without training wheels.  It will be interesting to see how she does.  She continues to enjoy learning and reading books.  She is becoming more interested in princesses and pink.  It's interesting how it just happened, because she doesn't really have any experience with Disney princesses.  I have been shocked recently at how much she has grown.  I feel like my little girl is gone.  She looks so much older and has lots much of her baby face and body.  She is becoming more mature and ready to take on more.  I'm not sure I am ready for it!

Tim and I celebrated our anniversary this week.  We got married on December 27th and never really feel like doing anything two days after Christmas.  We celebrate on the day we started dating...St. Patrick's day.  We took the kids out to dinner after swim lessons.  I was determined to not do Mexican this year, because we do it EVERY year.  We sat down to plan things out and decide which Asian restaurant we wanted to go to and couldn't decide, and much to my chagrin, I suggested a Mexican restaurant close to swim lessons.  Tim just laughed. Everyone loved it and Tim got his giant burrito.

Until next week!
