Sickness Again!

Well, we were all sick this week...again.  We seriously can't catch a break.  I thought we might have had the last of the colds since the weather has really warmed up, but no such luck.  At least we all started to show symptoms at about the same time.  We had another round of runny noses and Tim and I had coughs and sore throats.  Tim has been getting sick a lot recently.  He usually escapes some how, but he called in sick again this week one day when the coughing was particularly bad.  I figure it's probably best not to be coughing on the elderly sick patients.  We are all on the mend, but we had stake and opted to stay home to keep our germs to ourselves.  Luckily, they are still broadcasting meetings, so we still were able to "attend."

All the kids struggled with sleeping at night this week.  Hyrum came and joined me a couple of times in the night due to bad dreams, but I am wondering if it was his nose or throat that was causing the problem.  Liam has been struggling to fall asleep due to a sleep regression.  That on top of being sick meant a less than ideal nap and bedtime.  Lila did the best of all the kids.  She is flexing her independent muscles and coming out of the bedroom at night now that she is in the big bed.  She really isn't too bad, and goes back pretty easily.  Then for some reason the older two decided to wake up at 5:45 am on Saturday and Sunday, which meant that mom had to get up too.

Lila is having a potty training regression.  She has been having accidents multiple times a day.  Hopefully, she will work it out soon.  On a brighter note, we started her in pull-ups again and have seen some success with her actually using the bathroom when we go and get her at night.  Last time we tried, I couldn't for the life of me get her to go no mater the time or how long we sat there.

Hyrum went to school with less issue this week.  I still drove him most of the week, but we didn't have yelling and screaming like the two previous weeks.  Lila and Liam have been troopers, especially Liam.  I usually have to wake him up, which means he has to wait for breakfast.  Lila has been eating right away when she gets up with Hyrum.

Speaking of eating...I snapped this beauty on goulash night.  Whenever we have red paste and a toddler feeds themselves, I am always taken back to when Hyrum was this age and spiking his hair with the sauce with a giant pasta belly.  Liam is getting better at using a fork and spoon.  He continues to learn new words.  The funny phrase this week was "Paw Patrol."  Lila has Paw Patrol pull-ups and any time he sees them he starts saying, "Paw Pasho."

Friday, we went to support Hyrum with his school hike.  Lila was well enough and I just put Liam in the backpack so he wasn't interacting too much with the kids.  He still had a really nasty runny nose.  We met Hyrum's class and did a short hike followed by a dance party.  It was fun to actually interact with his school.  They are still pretty locked down and don't allow classroom helpers or any parents in the building.  I enjoyed meeting his teacher face to face and meeting some of the kids that I have heard about all year.

Tim is on his second to last set of nights this week.  It was hard to be sick and on nights, but he has six weeks left of residency and hopefully we will never have another set of nights again.

As an end, I thought I would share one of Hyrum's creations.  It might be a little difficult to see, but he made a cat robot suit for his Pete with magna-forms.  I thought it was clever and creative.  Until next time.
