Happy Thanksgiving!

We'll start off with a happy 9 months to Owen.  It's hard to believe that we have made it this far already.  Also, it is super hard to get pictures with a nine month old.  It was a whole family effort to get his still and looking in the camera direction.  You can see two of his teeth and I wish we had some others to show, but they have yet to make an appearance.  In the last month he's learned to pull himself up and start stepping.  In the last couple of weeks he has really started chattering.  He's added mama, dada and a whole host of other sounds.  He is also getting more into adult food.  He definitely eyes what we eat and wants a taste.

The kids wanted to take pictures with him, so we managed to kind of get a picture of all the kids, but it's just as hard with all of them.

As Thanksgiving is over, you will notice we have Christmas up.  The kids enjoyed helping to decorate things today.  I was informed by Hyrum that my Christmas lights are boring and that colorful ones would be much better.  I was a little hurt, but I'm the adult and like the boring ones!  We'll see how Owen does with it.  It wasn't too bad today, but we have a whole month until Christmas.

After a short week in school, we took a trip to visit grandparents for Thanksgiving.  I usually dread long car rides, because Owen is not great in the car.  We usually have multiple hours of screaming kids.  We were all pleasantly surprised when he really only fussed for a little bit, but was entertained the rest of the time.  He hasn't learned to sleep in the car, so he really didn't get any naps on driving days.

The kids enjoyed wresting with grandpa and uncle Brian.  Grandpa let them "farm" in his garden and mow the lawn.  They also spent lots of time running outside and asking anyone who they could catch to read to them.  Liam has become the master at just one more book.  Owen enjoyed exploring a new house.  He started crawling more while there, which was fun to see.

We all ate way too much good food and watched too much kung fu, but lots of good memories.

Lila got to play hair with grandma and help bake bread.  She also go to experience her first antique store with aunt Erin.  There was lots of pretties.  I think her favorite thing she found was the violin.  This girl loves her music!

On the way home we enjoyed watching the birds around us...until we hit a hawk.  It all happened so fast.  We aren't sure exactly what happened, but we clipped a hawk on the driver's side mirror.  We had to pull over to fix it, because the mirror got knocked out.  It think the bird and the mirror are okay.  I'm crossing my fingers at least.  We got home to a ton of boxes on our front porch.  We were not expecting Amazon to deliver so fast, so we were unprepared for when the kids saw them and ran to see them.  Unfortunately, one of the gifts had a picture on the box.  Tim and I just had to deny it and send all the kids to their bedroom with the door closed, so we could hide all the boxes.  One good thing about not unpacking a bunch of boxes is it makes it much easier to hide gifts in plain sight.  It's just one more box!

I taught in relief society today.  It went well, but it's definitely been a minute since I've taught adults.  I'm glad it's over with!  Next week we just back into school.  We are adding some Christmas things that I am excited about and I hope the kids enjoy it too.

Until then!
