We hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! There has been a lot of action in the last week, so let's get started.
Grandma and Grandpa Kluber came back through and stayed the night on their way home. Monday Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman came for a longer stay. The kids were excited to see them. We had some amazing weather when they first arrived, but it has quickly turned freezing...literally.
The kids didn't have school this week, so there was plenty of time to play games and be outside. I'm sure the grandparents played way more card games than they wanted to. Lila and Liam when on a long walk with Grandpa. I'm told they weren't prepared for a "grandpa" walk.
We celebrated the new year with a tasty meal. We aren't cool, so we didn't stay up late. I don't regret it, because the kids are always happier when they are well rested. Truth be told, so am I. We also had another round of colds go through. We had two back to back colds, so we have basically been sick for a month, because it just takes that long to cycle through the whole family.
Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman stayed an extra day and a half, because I did something to my back and was pretty useless. You never realize just how many ways you use your back muscles until they hurt with every movement. I found myself amazed each time I moved, because I had no idea that I was actually using muscles in my back. The human body is amazing how it all moves together. I'm on the mend thanks to time, a heating pad, and ibuprofen...lots of ibuprofen.
Apparently, I wasn't very good a taking pictures, so we don't have a wide variety this week. We do have some adorable ones of Owen, who has really exploded with his talking skills. I know I'm probably the only one that understands him, but I think he is getting getting. He never wants to be left behind, so we frequently find him at the piano bopping along.
He also is quite the daredevil, some of his own making and some from the help of others. He is doing so well in nursery now. He goes happily and we get cute pictures like this from his teachers.
This coming week we will start up all the extra activities. I'm not really ready for it, but so it goes. Here's to a new year of new goals and making life happen!
