We had an extremely cold weather this week. It was a bit uncharacteristic for this area, but not completely uncommon. The weatherman predicted up to six inches on snow. The kids were dreaming of snow forts and snowmen, but we only got a couple of inches on top of an inch of ice. Before the rain and snow started, we went out for some biking. I figured we would be stuck for most of the week in the house. The temps were down in the single digits in the evening and teens during the day.
Owen got an early birthday present of a helmet. He's been really wanting to scooter and bike with the big kids. I'm a stickler for helmets, so he wasn't really able to do much. He was very pleased to get his helmet and did his best to keep up with the big kids.
As we are in the south, the mention of snow or ice shuts everything down. Things started closing down on Tuesday and was completely shut down on Wednesday. Tim didn't have work on Wednesday and most of the activities were canceled this week. It was nice to have some forced time off.
Thursday things were back to normal. We did a makeup piano lesson for the kids, which made for a busy day. Friday, we did cleaned the church and Lila went to a friend party. They ate pizza, candy, had juice, popcorn, and watched a funny movie. Basically, it was the best night ever. Lila was really funny. She isn't a night owl and she's not afraid to say it's time for bed. I came just a few minutes early and she said she wasn't ready to go yet. The second the movie ended, she found me and said that it was time to go home. I just had to laugh.
We've had a couple of funny ones recently. Tim asked Lila what I was having for breakfast these days to which she responded, "Umm, mostly vitamins." It stinks getting old. But, according to Hyrum, Tim isn't old, he's just advanced in age. I wonder what that makes me, because the kids are convinced I'm a million.
Any who, next week we are supposed to be in the 60s. I'm so excited!! March is usually when the weather is perfect. I look forward to spending time outside. Oh, and we started our plants for our little garden and the majority have popped up already. Now I just need to keep them alive until it's time to plant in April. Until next week!
