Kansas!

What a week! We had a short week of school, because we followed Tim to Kansas for a sports medicine conference.  Tim was able to join us for some fun things, but he spent most of his time going to meetings while we partied.

One thing Tim was able to join us for was Legoland.  Hyrum has been interested in going for several years.  I didn't realize they had one in Kansas City.  We surprised him with a trip to visit for his birthday.  It was a lot of fun.  They had some really fun activities packed into a small space.  The kids definitely enjoyed the rides.  They had some where you road around a shot monsters to save a princess.  I'm sure it had something to do with a specific Lego story, but I didn't understand.  It was just fun.  Owen was super pumped that he got to do that one.  The other one he wasn't big enough and he wasn't happy about it.

The magicians apprentice was another fun one!  The faster you pedaled the higher you went.  The kids worked up quite a sweat.

Owen was super cute end enjoyed saying high to the Lego statues and putting Lego pizzas in the Lego oven.

They all got in touch with their inner ninja working on their reflexes and dodging lasers.

The next day I took the kids to a small aquarium.  They enjoyed seeing all the animals.  They had a good variety and activities to keep everyone entertained.  Owen wasn't too crazy about it.  He kept saying, "No like it."  It was pretty dark for the sea animals and with some many tunnels with animals so close it was scary to him.

I tried getting a picture by a water fountain, but true to form none of them were looking at the camera.

Tim took a short break from classes to go to an Asian buffet.  I don't know why, but Hyrum was fixated on eating at a buffet and we needed a place to eat, so we went.  We also spent a few hours visiting with a couple of his brothers and all the cousins.  It was fun to see them running around playing.  They got dirty many times.  Thankfully they had a lovely utility sink to clean up.  I was jealous.

Tim got some baby snuggle sleep time and Owen was surprisingly okay with it.  For as possessive has he usually is, he sometimes surprises me.

Friday was gramma Koober day!  Owen was super cute has he tried to say her name.  He is doing so well with speaking.  I typically have to interpret, but he is getting clearer and clearer.  We started off at the Paola History Museum.  They didn't last too long and Owen was super fussy.  I would love to go back without the kids.  They had a great collection and I would have loved to see how every other room connected to Paola history.  We mainly focused on the Native American room, which I loved.  The boys of course loved the arrow heads and beating on the drums.  Lila was all about the beadwork on the native dresses.  They spent lots of time a the playground running around making grandma and I tired.  We went to McDonalds for some lunch and then headed back to the play ground.  Everyone was exhausted by the time we left, which was good, because I forgot to mention that Thursday morning the kids woke up at 5:30 in the morning.  They woke Owen up, so everyone needed some solid sleep, which they finally got on Friday night.

Saturday we headed back to Fort Smith.  We had a pile of laundry and shopping to do.  I also needed to prepare for Hyrum's birthday.  He requested omelets for breakfast with cantaloupe and meat lovers pizza with honeydew for dinner with sundaes for dessert.  We opened presents early before church, so he would have time to play with them.  He really like the circuit set we got him.  He spent several hours making circuits to ding, play songs, and fly objects.

It was a busy day, but a great finish to a fun week.

That's all from us!  Here's to another week!
