Summer Days!

Compared to last week, we had a much slower week.  The theme for the resto of the month will be endings.

We have already finished up school and I spent this week working on finalizing prepping for July school.  It is a nice feeling to have all that organized.  I have tried to cut back on things and make it easier on myself and I think I have succeeded.  Everything went much faster than normal.  Lila had her last ballet class of the year.  She had decided to try gymnastics next year, so we will see how that goes.

The kids have one more piano class and then they will have a break until August.  Things dried out enough that we went down to the river walk during piano.  The school where they have lessons is right on the river.  There is a really nice bike trail.  The kids enjoyed try to through rocks and sticks in the river.

We pretty much finished up all the spring cleaning/school cleaning this week as well.  It's nice to the piles that I have built up taken care of.  I'm a tidy person, but there is always something that builds up.

Thursday was my birthday.  I find the older I get the less exciting it is.  I woke up not remembering it was my birthday until one of the kids asked if it was my birthday yet.  Lila and Liam made my oatmeal for breakfast.  They did a great job.  I went out to lunch with a friend and her daughter, who is also our main babysitter, watched the kids.  We always let kids choose what they want for their dinner, and I chose not to cook.  The kids got some pizza and Tim and I tried out an Indian restaurant that was far superior than the last one we tried.  Nothing beats the Indian food truck in Marion, Illinois.  I feel like we compare everything to that food truck.  They have set a pretty high standard, and we have yet to find anyone to beat them.

Tim has been seeing some patients earlier in the morning, so he has been working a bit more than normal.  He has been running with Hyrum in the evenings.  Hyrum wants to run in the Mercy Turkey trot, so he is "training."  Tim happened to see that Mercy was sponsoring another 5k this coming weekend, so they will be running in that one too.  The rest of us have been designated as the cheer squad.  It will be really interesting to see how Hyrum does and whether he still wants to run in November.

We have had some more severe weather come through.  We had another hail storm and the garden did much better.  There was just a little bit of damage.  We just need to get through tomorrow and hopefully we will move into our "summer" weather.

That's all from us.  Until next week!
