Compared to this last week, we were pretty chill. If you can't tell, I'm super excited to be done with school. All of the kids ticked of several more subjects this week. We are almost to the point where I might just tell the kids to finish everything on Monday and Tuesday, just so we don't have to drag things out until Friday. They are ready for a break. They are also ready for sunny weather. We had a lot of rain this last week. We also had a very intense 4 am thunderstorm, which included hail. My poor garden survived, but lots of branches were lost.
I also have another lesson learned from the garden this week. Always mark your pots. I forgot that I direct sowed some seeds in a pot and now I have double plants growing. Oh well. You live and you learn.
We had normal activities this week. Lila's dance is winding down for the year. Hyrum's martial arts will continue through the summer. Piano will also continue, but I am going to see of we can't take a break for at least a month. This week was the spring recital. I am amazed at how well both kids are doing. They did well on their pieces. Hyrum isn't pictured here, because he doesn't like to be photographed. Lila jumped right in and smiled big. She is on the front row with a yellow folder.

We were chatting with another parent at the concert and discovered that a local community was having a Pokémon exchange. We decided to do a spur of the moment adventure. We didn't know exactly what we would find, so we were really prepared. The kids all got a ton of cards for free and Hyrum is already planning on what he can do next year. They all enjoyed playing some games. True to Owen, he took the club and spent 30 minutes weed eating the lawn.
I think our biggest news of the week, that most of you probably couldn't care less about, but Owen is totally potty training himself! I'm not exactly sure how to handle this, because he is young and the youngest I've ever potentially trained. I've noticed that he would have a big potty within an hour of waking up. We casually worked on sitting on the toilet, but this week I have just been taking him potty after breakfast with success. Tim noticed today that he was still dry at lunch, so he took him again and he went. I think he is definitely ready for day training.
Here's to the last week of school!
