Another week down!

Temperatures are still really high, but next week we are supposed to see the 70s.  I'm not complaining at all, because I am ready for the fall!  The garden continues to struggle, but I have noticed a lot of new growth and blossoms.  I think we might get another round of tomatoes before the weather turns really cold.

This week we finished our 8th week of school.  It's crazy how much of the year we have completed.  The public schools in our area just started.  We have one more week of school and then we are taking a week off.  All the kids are doing so well and gaining confidence in their abilities.  I think Liam will be the most interesting to see this year.  Probably because he will start reading and that's my jam, but he is so fascinated with knowledge and constantly asking questions.  I am really curious to see how he picks it up.

Owen has hit a hard patch with his terrible twos.  We have name calling that is proving to be quite challenging...thanks older siblings.  We have had a rough patch with nursery and him not wanting to go, but I think we are over it.  He did well today going.  It also helped that his teacher brought out the animal crackers, which he was super pumped about.

One of my big projects this week was making beef broth.  I have only every done chicken, and this one was pretty easy.  I needed to make some extra space in the freezer, so I did about half of the beef bones.  I'm hoping to get the rest done in the next couple of weeks, because I would like some room to make some meals for after baby comes.

We are down to about two months until baby comes.  The kids are excited and I have started making lists.  I continue to make some tweaks around the house to make extra room and streamline processes.  We still don't have a name, which makes the kids antsy and friends roll their eyes.  We just don't seem to figure it out until the very end.

We had a family adventure this weekend.  Tim and the older two went to a stake activity at a lake a few weeks ago.  Liam was sick and didn't get to go and Tim thought it was super fun.  We invited a few families to come with us and we spent the morning playing.  Tim was super adventurous and took our kids and a couple of other kids canoeing.  He grew up camping and canoeing, so he really enjoys it.  All the kids seemed to have a lot of fun and "helped" Tim paddle.  After swimming, we drove to another town nearby and went to a BBQ restaurant.  Tim had heard it was the best and it was tasty, but I'm not sure it was earth shattering.  We are glad we tried it, but we probably won't be going again...especially since it's about 40 minutes away from us.

That's about all from this week.  Until next!
