We had a busy week with school and all the things that go along with life. The kids continue to do well. Time is flying by as we are down to just a few weeks until we add another child to our family. The kids are excited, but they have no idea that we are about to spend the next few weeks doing lots of extra cleaning. I typically don't do to much ahead, because by the time the baby actually comes everything will be disorganized or dirty.
Hyrum and Lila continue to do well with their individual activities. They are making improvements and getting better. It's exciting to see them excel and enjoy what they are doing. There is plenty of teaching younger siblings and it's really fun to see the younger kids picking up skills.
This weekend we drove up to Smithville to attend a family baptism. We decided to swing by the Liberty Jail. The kids did well with it and seemed to pick up a few things. It was a good experience and a great hands on lesson as they will be learning about the jail in a few weeks.
They enjoyed plenty of cousin time. The adults got to catch up while the kids played. All the kids have cousins that are about their age. The best thing was to see Lila with all her girl cousins. I always feel bad for her and she was just on cloud nine with all the girls.
It was just a quick trip for us. We left early Saturday morning, dropped by the jail and then spent the rest of the day with family. We got to our hotel late that night. We were going to go to church in the morning, but we didn't account for the fact that there was stake conference, so there wasn't anyone at the building. We decided to just head home, as we wouldn't be able to make any other ward in time. We zoomed into our ward while on the road.
We will have appointments for me once a week from now on, which will add a new element to our weeks. They are at wonky times, so the kids get to come. Luckily they will be short.
We are excited for General Conference this coming week. It's sad that we won't get to hear from President Nelson. We have had some good conversations with the kids about the process for a new prophet and how things will transition. Until next week!
