Our week wasn't too terribly exciting. Honestly, it was a little boring, but boring is good. School continues to go well. One of the things on my list to complete this week was planning for the rest of this year. We have a little easier next couple of months as we tend to add in more holiday fun and activities. Lila is doing so well with her school work. I can't believe her progress. I'm even more excited for Liam. I think I will forever be partial to his stage, because he is so close to reading. We are going to do to a final alphabet review and really hammer down the sounds, so that come January he will begin reading. I think he will do well, but I am super curious to see how he does, because he can be my tricky child sometimes.
I'm not sure if I mentioned this last week, but we started attempt two at potty training Owen. The first time was stressful, because I didn't think things through very well and we had days where we were going to be gone. This round we had a three day period where we were home to get him to the toilet. He does really well with number one, but not so much number two. I am very grateful for pull-ups because we can still work on training, but it is so much less stress. He isn't to the point where he will tell us that he needs to use the bathroom, but he can certainly hold it and if I stay on top of the time he is typically dry all day. Hopefully, he will continue to make progress this week and actually say something when he needs the toilet.
I think "the list" is pretty much done. As I mentioned before, I finished prepping school through December. I also did the last of my shopping aside from the minor things like milk. Can I just say that we go through so much milk! I know we aren't anywhere near where my family was growing up, but they just seem to all of the sudden be eating more of everything. It's taken me off guard.
Anyway, the freezers are very full. We also got the last of the cleaning done. I got it in my head that I should just be really prepared and also purchased/planned gifts for Liam's birthday which is just around the corner and Christmas. I will only have a few things that will need to be purchased closer to Christmas, but it it's a good feeling to have it done.
The kids continued to play more outside. The weather is really cooling off. In the next week night time temps will finally go down into the 50s. I feel like it was a long hot summer that started too early and ended late. The mosquitos are still out in full force. We have all been eaten alive.
I continue to struggle with a cough that is finally going away. Our ward was split a couple of weeks ago and basically gutted. I just received a calling a month ago, but was released and called into the primary presidency...go figure. Tim helped with a move on Saturday morning. Liam went with him and was actually helpful. Usually, the kids are more in the way than helpful. He came away with a super sugary drink and a small lock and key that is never out of his hands.
That's all from us. I guess I should say no baby yet, but probably in the next couple of weeks. Until next week!
