Snow week!

Arkansas is SO COLD!  I honestly had no idea it got this cold.  We spent much of the week in the low 20s, teens and sometimes single digits.  We it was a busy, fun week with grandparents and normal life, so lets get to it.

Sunday was was only the beginning of winter weather.  Fort Smith doesn't have proper snow removal, so road don't get cleared like they do further north.  Cold temperatures continued for the first part of the week.  Tim didn't end up going to work on Monday, because staff couldn't get to work or they had never driven in snow and didn't feel like they could make it.  Kuk Sool was closed for Hyrum.

We had lots of time to play games and read stories with grandparents.  I'm sure they were exhausted, because I am exhausted most days.  They kids loved it though and lots of good memories were made playing inside and outside in the snow.

By Wednesday the roads were clear, but we found that this area shuts down completely until things are 100% safe.  Lila's dance was canceled, so we decided to go to story time at the library.  We pulled up and the parking lot was empty.  We ended up taking his parents to see Tim's office.  The staff is super nice and it's fun to visit them.

Thursday the temperature climbed to the 40s and Tim's parents headed out to see some more family.  It was a little sad to see them go.  The kids had to adjust to playing with each other, which is rough sometimes.

After school on Friday the kids and I went to do some cleaning at the church.  We discovered that the water wasn't working.  Everything was fixed before Sunday.  Saturday evening we had a family over for dinner.  Their kids are very similar in age to ours.  Everyone had a lot of fun playing and laughing.

Sunday was filled with church meetings, playing, making church movies (Hyrum has the heart of an influencer), and trying to stay warm.  We are expecting freezing rain tonight, so it will be interesting to see what happens with that and how long things will shut down for.

Until next week!
