Dallas!

What a week!  It seems that we are moving in all different directions this summer.  I am ready for school to start.  Well, not yet, but I'm getting close to the point where I am ready to get a school routine going.

This week the kids filled their days with playing, reading, eating homemade slushies, fighting, and all sorts of imaginative play.  Some highlights are Hyrum is learning some new forms in Kuk Sool.  He will be having another test next week, so he has been doing more practice.  Lila continues to improve her reading skills and Liam has been working on addition.  One of the things that I love about homeschool, is how much learning happens all the the time.  He picks up so many things, by just observing the others.  Owen is trying to run.  He is getting pretty quick, but still tends to fall a lot.  He also is having a language explosion.  This week he learned to say thank you, good girl, bye bye Lila, bird, bowl, cup, and a lot more that I just can't remember.

The the kids have also been doing gymnastics.  The kids were working on hand stands and Tim showed them how it was done...literally.  Not bad for an old man!

I had a presidency meeting and I started taking an emotional resilience class.  Our ward is a little behind in doing the classes, so I jumped in for the first round.  Tim had meetings as well that really put us at our max.

Friday morning we left for Fort Worth.  We met Brian at a really fun museum, the Perot.  The kids enjoyed walking through everything and seeing all the cool things.  Hyrum loved the robots.  I think mine and Tim's favorite section was the gems.  They had some really cool crystals and gems.  It's amazing what the earth can form!

Saturday morning Brian took Hyrum and I on a tour to see the planes.  It was really cool to see how things were built and what all goes into it.  Fran host Tim and the  younger kids for swimming and Paw Patrol.  We spent the rest of the day hanging out and swimming and eating way too much good food.  The kids did much better with petting the dog.  There was a healthy amount of fear still with the younger two.

We said our good-byes that evening, because we left after church on Sunday to head home.

The kids all went to bed early tonight.  They were up late and with all the fun, they needed it.  Until next week!
