General Conference

Overall we had a great weekend.  It's always hard to really listen to General Conference with young kids.  They are getting better at finding things to occupy themselves that doesn't require Tim and I to entertain them.  There were lots of great talks that have given me plenty to think about and consider.

Owen's personality continues to develop and shine.  He is really getting into dancing and conducting.  Any time he hears music, he will usually start doing his toddler bounce or conduct the music.  He has certainly found his voice as he tries to keep up with his siblings.  He can get impressively loud.  He is always trying new words.  We still have a lot of trouble understanding him, but he gets an A for effort.

Lila and Hyrum have found their groove with school.  They both are doing well with their studies and learning lots.  It's been very nice to have Hyrum more independent, so I can focus on Liam and Lila.  Lila is very self directed.  Once she learns to read, I can definitely see her taking charge and not needing me very much.  They continue to enjoy their individual activities.

Liam is doing well with school too.  He's the one that is usually jealous, because he has to wait for me and his doesn't take as long as the other two.  I never thought I would teach a child that was upset because someone gets to do more school than them.  I guess it's a good problem to have.  He has hit the stage of imaginative play.  I love to hear him playing with cars crashing or telling a story of some emergency.  He has also made some great progress with riding his bike.  We are still working on keeping his eyes up so he doesn't veer off the sidewalk.

This coming week should be a routine week with cooler weather.  I love it that the kids are going outside more to play.  It's also nice to let Owen out to dig in the back yard.  The fence has been a game changer!
