A race to the end!

We finished the school week and are officially on Christmas break.  I think I might be more excited than the kids.  The week was really busy with lots of different "things."  No matter how hard I try the closer we get to Christmas, the busier we get.

The kids were excited for the break.  It's funny how they work just a little bit harder the closer we get to a big break.  We made it through each day no matter how busy.  All the of the kids are doing great.  I'm probably a little partial to Lila right now, because of how she is zooming with reading.  I love it when kids learn to read.  The world just opens up for them.  Her writing is coming along as well and her stories are getting more interesting.

This was the last week of kids activities.  I'm really excited for a break from driving kids.  I thought two weeks ago was the start of my driving break, but alas Tim reminded me that we still had activities.

Owen has been really funny as of late.  He is discovering different things and insisting on keeping them on.  He found gloves and wouldn't take them off.  This week he found glasses and insisted on keeping them on.  He has also been spraying for quite some time.  He was taking different tools around spraying, but this week he found Hyrum's nerf guns and they became the sprayers.

Hyrum and Liam spent a lot of time outside at pain camp.  Liam came in grabbing different things earlier this week and said that Hyrum needed it for pain camp.  There are times as a mom where I just shake my head and don't ask.  I still don't know exactly what it was, but it persisted through the rest of the week with .  Kids are very resilient when it comes to cold weather.  The temperatures dropped even more this week and they were still out jumping and playing.

Lila enjoyed some daddy daughter time this week.  Tim took her to see the Nutcracker.  She had a lot of fun, but it was really late.  She likes her sleep.  She's not afraid to say she's tired and going to bed.  She was really grumpy when she got home.

We ended the week with our ward Christmas party.  They did a night in Bethlehem theme.  It as really cool to participate in and honestly most of us were a little clueless what to do.  We are so used to the normal Christmas meal and singing.  They did a great job decorating and lots of people dressed up.  Hopefully, they do it again next year!

The kids are very excited for Santa to come.  Hopefully, everyone will have a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and remembering the Savior and His birth.
