Valentine's Day

It was a busy week at school.  The kids were very excited for Valentine's Day, which led to very emotionally charged days, filled with anticipation.  Let's just say Miss Kluber was happy when Friday arrived.  Last week I mentioned that there was blossoming love in the classroom, well that was an understatement.  I have about five couples now that are in love!  It is so funny to watch them interact, even at such a young age they exhibit adult like characteristics when they like someone.  Case in point...a little girl watched her "friend" sit down on the carpet and once he was settled, she sat right next to him.  What is even more funny is that for most of the cases the boys are clueless that the girls are trying to get their attention.  Any time the girls do something to show their affection, they boys have the attitude of, "Oh that was nice."  Some things never change!  :)

We also had some really low points emotionally with kids not getting along.  All the teachers agree that the weather needs to warm up fast.  They have been inside for the better part of a month and they need to run out their energy.

The biggest part of the week was Valentine's Day.  Each class had to parties and they loved it!  I really like how my parts are focusing more on crafts this year instead of the sugar.  We have had some really creative activities that have engaged them.  One of them that was adorable, was a ladybug container that help treats.  We have also had fun games that are so creative!  I have decided to start documenting the ideas because someday I may need to use them and I am not the most creative person.

Second highlight of the week was participating in one of my favorite activities...DISCO SKATING!  Regular skating is fun, but when that music changes there is a different feeling the atmosphere.  It also helps that there are individuals that have enough confidence to dress up disco style.  It is a lot fun!

Monday is a holiday and I plan on not waking up at 6 am.  Other than that the sky is the limit..oh and I am going to make a skirt.  We'll see how that one works out.
