Happy Father's Day! It has been a fun day as this is Tim's first official Father's Day. He has enjoyed spending lots of time with Hyrum.
The beginning of the week as hard. Hyrum went through a growth spurt and was sick for a day. That meant I didn't get much sleep. He was up every hour and a half for one night and then another night I was on the couch with Hyrum all night until Tim took over at four a.m. On a more positive note. Growth spurts mean new tricks with Hyrum. He has started to copy us. He has learned to stick out his tongue and will turn his head to look at us when we talk to him. He is also rocking his head movement, makes more vowels sounds and is learning to sooth himself in his crib. There have been a couple of times this week when we have gone in to check on him and has just been staring and playing by himself. It's nice not have a screaming baby when he wakes up.
Tim continued to work with the internal medicine doctor. He was a couple more days with her and then he found out that he will be able to work with a family medicine doctor. This will be a great chance for him to see a different type of medicine that he might be interested in.
It was my first full week back at work. This have slowed down a lot. I like night having to use too much brain power. I am so tired most days that it's probably a good thing.
Friday, Tim had to take a family to the airport, so Hyrum went on his first shopping trip with me. He didn't do a very good job at organizing the cart...he was sleeping on the job. He did awesome until we were in line at the grocery store and the clock struck 6 and he decided that he was hungry.
Saturday was a busy day. We always wake up early now. Having baby has meant we wake up early just like every other day. No more sleeping in for us. Tim went to help clean up some homes outside of Houston. There was more flooding that happened and stakes in our area have been asked to help families gut their homes. It was good that he was gone because it gave me a chance to work on Father's Day. I decided that I was going to make him cinnamon rolls. I was able to get them baked, cooled, and hidden before he got home. It's a good thing he doesn't spend much time in the kitchen. He had a nice surprise on Sunday when he woke up.

My favorite quote from Tim was, "There's a pan of these somewhere right? You didn't just learn to make a single roll recently?"
We had a great start to our Sunday, but we ended up rushing out the door. We try to get to church very early so I can feed him and then can stay in the chapel for the whole meeting. We waited until just before we left to get him dressed. I was getting on my shoes when Tim called me. Let's just say Hyrum had a bath Saturday night and Sunday morning. He had the fastest bath to date. It's a good thing we had planned on leaving extra early.
Our afternoon has been pretty calm. Our normal meeting was canceled because of Father's Day, so we had a little more time than usual.
Here's to a week with more sleep!
