Sorry!

Sorry for the lateness of the post.  We had an adventurous weekend that resulted in us getting in late Sunday evening.  But, I will start with last Monday and work up to this Monday.

Monday Hyrum started at daycare to ease him into it.  I think over all he did well, but there is always adjusting to be done.  It was hard to leave him, but we have felt very blessed in all things.  This center came highly recommended from other women in our ward and Tim and I both were impressed with it.  We were very lucky to even get in.

All week we went in to drop him off and pick him up leading up to Friday when I started back to work.  It is definitely slower in the summer, which is nice.  I can go to work exhausted, but not needing to use a lot of brain power.  When the weekend came we were ready to spend it together as a family.

Tim continues to work with a physician.  He only has two more weeks and then he will be done with this doctor.  He is looking into working with other doctors, but hasn't been able to set anything up as of yet.  He has enjoyed his time and I think it is giving him a taste of what he can expect in the future, not only for a career, but for residency.

The other amazing big news is that we were taken of the wait list for student housing.  This means a lot of things.  Tim will be very close to school and be able to take the school bus system, which is free and will save us money.  It is the same distance for me from work, but closer to daycare for Hyrum.  It is also cheaper, safer, closer to the student gym and fields for Tim, and it is child friendly with parks and a pool.  Perfect for when Hyrum is a little older.  We have just felt very blessed these past couple of weeks.  A lot of things that were in the air and causing stress have just worked out.

We have decided to try to do something on Saturdays in Houston.  There is a lot to experience and this is Tim's last summer off, because he will start rotations next summer and be at the mercy of the rotation.  Tim found a great list of fun, free things to do in Houston, so we have started working on it.  This weekend we decided to visit a Hindu Temple.  In their religion, they worship a couple hundred Gods.  The temple we visited was the only one in the U.S. that actively worshiped a God.

Below is a picture of the temple.  It was very ornate.  Because it was an actual temple, we took off our shoes and were walking around on hot pavement.  We enjoyed looking around...we were the only white people around.

The only downside was the heat and humidity.  We didn't spend too long outside, because it was 95 plus humidity.  It was Hyrum's first experience being outside for longer than the distance to the car.  He got to wear an awesome hat and Tim did a great job being shade and we spent time inside to stay cool.  I thought he was very cute in his hat.

Here is a picture of one of the Gods.

And a family picture...Hyrum isn't smiling...he was done.

After our visit we went and got ice cream to cool down and then headed to Tim's parents house.  One of his brothers just moved to Texas and drove down to visit.  We hadn't seen then in a while and we spent Saturday night and Sunday visiting.

Hyrum surprised us by increasing his night sleeping by one hour.  So, he now sleeps from 9 to 2 a.m.  This also pushes his wake-up time, which is nice, except for this morning.

We had a hard morning.  A crying baby is much more effective than an alarm at waking one up. He used to get up at 5 a.m., but now it is about 6 a.m.  My alarm went off at 5, but when baby wasn't crying I promptly fell back asleep.  I woke up again with Tim's alarm 40 minutes later and started running around trying to get ready.  Luckily we made it out the door on time and everyone got to where the needed to be.

And so we begin another week!
