Brrr!

I didn't think Texas got this cold, but we have been down in the 30s and 40s.  Yesterday when we left for church the wind picked up and made if feel even more cold.  Maybe we will get snow after all...wishful thinking.  On the plus side we received a package that had this little treasure in it  See the picture below.  I think Hyrum looks cute and we have used it every day since it came.

Hyrum has enjoyed playing with lights recently.  It is really funny to watch him, because he sticks them in his mouth and his cheeks light up.

Tim finished up his finals this week.  I think he always does well, but there was some he wished he would have done a little better.  By Friday he was glad to be finished with everything.  We decided to do something this weekend as a family.  We went to the Galleria mall to look that the Christmas lights.  The Galleria is a very fancy mall filled with expensive stores that no one can afford like Louis Vuitton, De Beers and a bunch of other stores that I can't pronounce.  They do put up really nice decorations, an ice skating rink, and cool fish tanks.  I think Hyrum enjoyed looking at everything as he usually likes looking at anything and everything.

Notice the wave in the first picture.  That is the first one we have been able to capture.  He continues to work on that and his pincer grasp is coming along.  He is really good at putting Cheerios in his mouth.  He figured out that once his hand is wet that he can get one to stick to his hand and it's really easy to get it in his mouth.

His new favorite thing to do at church is to chase kids.  We have to help him but he likes to run after the kids the best he can.  He gets a kick out of it.  It was a happy week at our house has he learned to put himself to sleep.  Once he is tired we set him in his crib and about 10 minutes later he is asleep.  No fussing or crying.  Just lots of kicking the crib slats and mattress.  If he is really tired it is even less.  We still have trouble with him waking up in the middle of the night because he doesn't like wet diapers and he is hungry.  We had a couple of nights were he went back to sleep without eating.  1:20 a.m. seems to be the magic hour in which he likes to wake mom up.  I think it is more of a habit since he consistently wakes up at that time...now we have to break it!

I still have work this coming week, but most of my teachers are gone on break, so things will be quiet.  I continue to stay busy with primary and everything else that needs to be done at home.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas filled with family, love, and the Savior!
