Tim started a new rotation this week ingeriatrics. He found out early on that it was going to be an easy week. He basically had two half days and then he had the rest of the week off. It was pleasant for us because he was able to see and play with Hyrum more...including lunch. It was nice for him because he was able to run errands and do things like shots without asking for time off or trying to make it before clinics close.
This coming week he will begin a neurology rotation that will require a lot more than two half days...darn. He will also prepare for a quick trip to Brownsville to volunteer with serving those who speak Spanish that are in need of health care, but can't afford to see a doctor.
I spent my week trying to keep up with Hyrum. Running is a game for him. Any time it is time to do something like get on shoes, eat, take a bath, or sit he will run away while yelling, "Hyrum runs away!" He is also still stoked about running around the couch, so much so that he has stopped insisting that I chase him. Thank goodness! The weather was nicer out as well. Definitely temperatures that I can handle...60+. This was also a good thing because I have had to get on him about inside and outside activities, like swinging on shelves or counters. He really likes to use him muscles. Below is a picture of him getting ready to swing on one of his favorite bars.
We also went to the library. It had been a while because of holidays and bad weather since we have gone to story time. He was super pumped to see Miss Michelle. He was also excited to get more books. We have started checking out informational books, so that he can look at the pictures and we can talk about different concepts. The last couple of weeks we have been reading books about dinosaurs and he has several dino names down. It's really cute to listen to him try to say the names. I think we are going to do some bug books because he really like learning about bees this last week and has been interested in bugs.
He continues to work his imagination. He went to a birthday party again this week and came home with a balloon that because the dog he walked and ran around the couch. He also has started playing along with us if we are one the computer. It is a little hard to see, but he and Tim both have a mouse and are working on the computer.
This week we also decorated for Valentine's day. It wasn't much, but I do like holidays and I have decided that we are going to make heart cookies and give them out when we get closer. Hyrum likes to help with all things cooking and baking and he really likes cookies, so it should be fun.
Other than a presidency meeting, this week was calm without much action. Next week should be the same minus Tim leaving town for the whole weekend. Until then!
