We made it!

All I have to say is Hyrum and I made it!  There was something happening every day this week that was different than our normal weekly routine of just staying at home.

But....let's start with a safety message from Hyrum...

Enough said...

Monday, I went to visit a sister in our ward.  Hyrum and I spent time helping her hang posters for her missing dog.  No luck on finding the Yorkie, but we were able to build a relationship with her that has been difficult with her work schedule.  Tim was able to come home a little early.  He was able to come home earlier most of the week.

Tuesday, was a busy cooking day.  I needed to make new sister visits, so I made cookies and bread.  Hyrum wanted to taste test and he approved!  We also went to a music class that was hosted at our ward building.  There is a sister that is very musical and she offers a free music classes once a month.  Hyrum enjoyed his time and we took Aiden with us, which was fun.  That evening I did a new sister visit, which was fun, because we are close in age and she was just a fun person.

Wednesday morning we made another visit to a sisters.  Hyrum enjoyed her house because she had a remote that he was able to turn on the TV.  We have a remote for him, but it doesn't work, so hers much more exciting.  On our way home I started receiving S.O.S text messages about a luncheon for a memorial service.  What it all boiled down to was they needed someone to organize it and I volunteered.

Not sure if that was the best idea because Thursday things got more crazy.  As the day was coming to an end after trying to organize the luncheon, I went to pick up Tim and the car wouldn't start.  We had a very dead battery.  Looking back we were very lucky, because it happened at a time when it was low stress (at home) and the battery ran like a champ until it just died.  The down side to it was the weather was terrible.  We were in the 30s with high winds.  Way to cold to be changing a battery.  But, Tim said he felt like a real man having changed a car battery by himself and doing it in freezing weather.  We also found out that Tim's identify had been stolen.  Somehow someone got a hold of his information.  We are still working on getting things taken care of, but for right now it seems to be very contained.  I should also mention that at this time, Hyrum was also showing signs of being sick.

We made it to Friday...the big day.  I watched a little boy in the morning, which was good because he kept Hyrum occupied so I could prep two huge batches of funeral potatoes and start cooking 2 twenty pound hams.  I also made salads.  Hyrum got to play with one of his favorite people, so I could take all of the food to the memorial service and serve.

Friday night came and we were all exhausted.  Tim and I watched a movie like the good old days and then we went to bed!

Saturday, Hyrum went to a birthday party for a little girl in our ward.  He had a blast playing in the toy kitchen and jumping on the tramp.  We may need to invest as a way for him to burn off energy!  Tim spent the day studying and in the evening he changed the training wheels on Hyrum's bike, so we can now use it.

So, that was our week.  Hyrum is getting better from his cold and I am too.  Tim continues to stay healthy despite all the germs and to studying and learn more about dermatology.  Here's to a calmer week!
