Happy Mother's Day to all the women who may read this post. We had a busy week preparing to go to Fort Worth. Brian just moved to Texas to start work and dad came with him. Hyrum has never met Uncle Brian, so it was fun for them to meet. But, let's start at the beginning of the week.
Tim finished his last week of psych. He will begin his OB rotation, which will be his last of his third year. Things are going to get really busy from here on out with him leaving for away rotations, applications, new baby, and interviews. There are a lot of things that will and need to happen in the next six months.
I had my 24 week appointment and the baby is still growing well and things look good. My next appointment will be the glucose test. It's crazy to think we are almost to the last trimester. Things have moved a lot faster than they did with Hyrum. I have also decided that this baby is spending lot more time vertical. Hyrum was always horizontal kicking, but she is pushing on ribs and making breathing more difficult. As long as she decides to come on time I will be happy to take all the rib kicking she can deal out!
Hyrum and I prepared some food before we left for Fort Worth, which made for some fun cooking in the kitchen. I also went through the apartment to organize and clean out some things in preparation for more "stuff." The main point in going to Fort Worth was for family, but we also brought back beds and a dresser for Hyrum, as well as the rest of my things have mom and dad have stored for the last decade. I guess it was time for me to take responsibility.
Friday at lunch we drove to pick up Tim from his exam and head to Fort Worth. Unfortunately, we hit Houston lunch traffic, a wreck, and construction a couple of times. It took us a lot longer to get to Brian's than we thought. But, that is big city traffic for you. We made it just before dinner, so Hyrum was able to run some laps at Brian's and get acquainted with Brian and dad.
We brought cookies for Hyrum and his cookie buddy to eat, which was a success. Dad also read him some stories, played soccer, taught him some words and Brian was right along with him. It's always fun to see Hyrum building relationships with family and I am glad that family will be so much closer so that we can spend for time together.
We left Saturday mid-morning for home and made good time. We unloaded the truck, returned it and then started building the bunk beds. Hyrum was really excited about the big boy bed. I am going to have to get on it to find rails and waterproof covers, because I think he is ready for it! I also want to have him well established in his big boy bed before the baby comes, so it isn't like he is getting kicked out of the crib.
All in all it was a great end to a good week, and to top it off Tim make a delicious breakfast and will be taking care of dinner. :) Couldn't ask for more!
