Another Week of Adventures!

The weeks are going by too fast.  I can't believe we have already been in Utah for two weeks.  We started off the week with some park time.  Surprisingly, we haven't done too much besides swimming outside.  A lot of it had to do with the fact that there was so much ash in the air.  Hyrum had fun at the playground and I was still feeling comfortable in the heat, which doesn't happen in Houston.

Wednesday we started off with the parade.  Hyrum did well with sitting.  Towards the end he got restless, and his favorite part were the horses.

We did a quick lunch at home and then we headed down to St. George to pick up dad at the airport.  It was a smaller airport, so you can actually go in and see the planes coming in.  It was very exciting to watch the plane come in and then run to see dad.  That evening we did burgers, ice cream, and cookies.  Three of Hyrum's most favorite things.  A great way to say Happy Birthday America!

Hyrum got to spend plenty of time playing with grandpa.  He didn't know quite what to think of grandpa's brand of playing (road grader and steamroller).  Hyrum likes to play chase.  We all got a workout...including grandma!  There was lots of reading and listening to mom play music, as well as errands.

Friday hit and I realized that we were leaving to go see Tim the next day.  So, I did some shopping and preparing food for our time with Tim.  We left Saturday morning to meet up at Eddie's house.  It was fun to see his family.  Living so far away, we have been cut off from family in Utah.  It had been over a year since we had seen everyone and it was good to catch up for a bit.  Hyrum was very happy to see Tim and Tim was very happy to see Hyrum.  I think I was missed too...I think. :)

We said our goodbyes.  Mom and dad went home to get started with the real moving without a two year old in the way.  We went up to Sandy with Tim and will spend the next two weeks with Tim at his sister's house.  So much has change in this area!  There are whole neighborhoods and shopping centers where there was once an open field.

We both have lots of friends and Tim has a ton of family in this area.  We are working on seeing as many as we can, but I know we don't have nearly as much time to do everything.  We did start off with seeing Carolyn (a.k.a my best friend) and we went to see as aunt and uncle of Tim's .  I feel like we are just popping in to say hi and then moving on to the next person.  If only we had more time!

Tim continues to enjoy his time working with the dermatologists.  He has learned a lot and has been able to get a lot of hands on experience.  This experience has been a lot of fun for him, one that I think will help him in the long run.

I expect the next two weeks to go by just as quickly.  Hopefully, we can pack as much as we can before leaving for Houston.  And speaking of Houston...I guess we missed yet another flood.  Houston just can't catch a break!
