Happy six months to Lila and a nice pat on the back for Tim and I for keeping her alive for so long! Time has gone by quickly, but it always does. Lila has discovered mobility. Up until this week she has pulled herself in a five foot radius. This week she found out that she can get from room to room and has army crawled all over the place to get to her favorite things like shoes, cords, Hyrum's toys, and the bathroom rug. I also got a picture of her sleeping with her bum in the air. I just think it is cutest baby picture and it's why I have so many of Hyrum like this when he was a baby. She dropped her middle of the night feeding and sleeps until about 4 am after I feed her at 10:30. I'm loving the uninterrupted sleep. She definitely is a determined little girl!
Tim had course at his school all last week. He has one more week of courses and then he will be back in the hospital and clinic until graduation. We are less the 24 hours away from learning whether we matched. We are crossing our fingers that he does and that we don't have to do the scramble. We will let you know what happens!
Hyrum started off the week with a cold, which we later determined that it was allergies. There was something in the air. He was able to go to preschool, which he always enjoys. The biggest thing for him this week that he probably doesn't realize is that he started playing independently for extended periods. It has been great to have an hour plus that I am not trying to work on things and play with his at the same time. This is one example of him entertaining himself while Lila napped.
Our weekend is what we were all looking forward to this week. Erin has dubbed it the Texas chapter family reunion. Erin and Brian drove down for the weekend. We went to Brazos Bend to see the alligators. It's a National Park that has several hundred wild alligators that just chill around the lakes as you walk by. When we first got there it was a little overcast, so we were concerned we wouldn't see any. We were checking out a cut baby turtle and Hyrum said that it was an alligator. We all started to correct him, but soon realized that in true Hyrum fashion he had spotted the first alligator. We were able to see quite a few alligators, birds, and a snake.
We also went to a nature center to touch a baby alligator, which Hyrum did not do. We went back to our apartment for dinner and chatting. They came back again in the morning to continue to visit, until they headed back to Dallas. Perhaps the most memorable moment was at dessert when Hyrum asked for an, "abnormally large cookie and ice cream." Not sure where he got that, but it was sure funny.
Tim and Lila ended the week with runny noses. So, Hyrum and I went to sacrament meeting and then home so I could feed Lila. It was really nice to be able to just sit without too much distraction. Any who, we are very excited for 10 am Monday morning, because that is when the emails are sent out stating whether or not we matched. Here's to the next 24 hours!
