Roller Coaster Week!

This pretty much sums up our week...exhausting!  The boys fell asleep for a good hour on Saturday.  Hyrum doesn't take naps, so when he sleeps you know he needs it.

We found out Monday morning that Tim matched for his prelim year in Internal Medicine, but didn't match for dermatology.  It was a big bummer and both of us were in shock, but as the week progressed things settled down and we are both at peace with the results.  Because of his prelim year, his options were very few and was not able to scramble into anything else.

Tim spent much of his week doing required classes and working on things for the scramble.  He was able to support several of his fellow students as they worked to scramble.  Friday was match day and we decided to make a day of it.  We drove the city bus and Hyrum loved it.  We have watched buses for almost three years now and he loved being able to ride.

Tim has 260 in his class so it took a while to hand out all the envelops.  We found out that we will be going to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for his prelim year.  Tim was VERY pleased with this.  It was where he wanted to go for his prelim.  They have a fantastic program and a great support system for anyone who is apart of the UNC family.

We took the train home, which was something else that Hyrum loved.  It was crowded, because of rodeo.  The train started moving before I could sit down and I landed in some poor lady's lap.  Talk about embarrassing.  As match day falls close to St. Patrick's Day, we went out to eat to celebrate match and our anniversary.  Tim enjoyed a massive chimmichanga and I had chicken shwarma.  Hyrum enjoyed both!  By the end of the day Tim had heard from the chief resident and the program director to welcome.  It was a good end to the day.

Hyrum continues to use his imagination.  He saw Aunt Erin use a blanket to look under her car and so he has incorporated that into his play.  Here he is fixing his car.  He is laying on his blanket so he can get under his pillow car.  He also had his last official preschool.  I taught the last class and it was a lot of fun.  He has really enjoyed playing and learning.  he and Tim also did soccer on Saturday.  Tim said that Hyrum dribbled the ball for the first time, but shortly after he left to go chase something.  Very typical of Hyrum.

Lila continues to move.  She is a wiggle worm and eats well.  She has tried a variety of veggies and fruits and hasn't turned her nose once.  I am crossing my fingers that we will have another good eater on our hands.

That's about it for us.  The countdown begins for finding a place to live, but I have been in contact with some ladies from Chapel Hill, so hopefully that will help things move faster.
