Preschool Mania!

Another good week in Chapel Hill.  The weather heated up a bit after the hurricane, but is still rather nice.  Nice enough to go swimming still!  Before things get to out of order and confusing, let's give a play by play for each person.

Tim had another week on pulmonology.  It's a pretty hard rotation to be on because all the patients are complicated.  According to Tim, he had one patient this week with two things wrong, while everyone else had at least 10 things.  I guess it's tricky navigating all the health issues and trying to make it through their extensive health histories.  His day off was on Thursday.  He took a couple of naps, worked on some medical stuff, and we went swimming as a family.  It was back to the grind on Friday.  He has one more week on this service and then he will rotate to another one for two weeks.

Nothing big or interesting for me.  My life revolves around the kids, so just know that anything that happened to them...I was present and accounted for!  Oh, I guess my killer (not literally) batch of dumplings is noteworthy.  I made it for dinner this week and it was really good.

This was week two for Hyrum and preschool.  He is really enjoying it.  I am already thinking of making some adjustments.  He does really well with knowledge, but his fine motor skills are far behind.  This is nothing we didn't already know.  He has always been the kicking and throwing kid...not much for coloring and fine motor things.  Despite this, I am already seeing some awesome improvements.  I snapped this picture during preschool.  He decided to change his capital 'B' into a bear.  I thought it was clever.

He played outside every day, had a play date on Friday, and got to make some banana bread for preschool.  He still loves sticks.  Today our stick game was collecting stick around the neighborhood.  Somehow one ended up in his hat and I asked him what he was doing and she said it was a searchlight.  Goofy kid!  I would say that he had a pretty good week.

Miss Lila is a peach.  She makes daily progress with walking.  She still loves to crawling, but gets more secure every day.  She discovered this week the power of a chair.  She is very good at getting in and out of the kid chairs we have at the table.  She will use them to climb onto the kid table to reach the crayons.  Speaking of crayons, she has discovered a passion for coloring.  She loves to get a crayon and just color.  She will repeat getting in the chair, getting a paper and color, getting out of the chair...rinse and repeat over and over.  I am not sure if it was her or Hyrum.  I think it was her, but somehow the chair ended up by the TV stand with her on top playing with the TV.  The chair opens up a whole knew world!

She had her 12 month appointment on Wednesday.  She is almost 18 pounds and 30 inches long.  Her height is in the 80th percentile, but her weight is the 20th.  The doctor asked if she had always had a low weight percentile and I said that is actually the highest she has had yet.  Regardless she is long and skinny.  Her seventh tooth has popped in and she is showing signs of the eighth coming in quickly like it did two teeth ago.  We will see if it comes in this week.

We will have a busy Monday ahead of us!
