Heat Wave!

We started off the week with a heat wave and it was glorious!  We met some other families in the ward at a park that was recently built.  It has a very cool area where they have built hills for kids to ride their bikes and scooters on.  I didn't know this, so we didn't bring anything, but they had fun running up and down the hills.  By Tuesday, it was raining.  It let up in the afternoon, so we made a run to a different paved playground.  Hyrum found a friend right away to play "ice cream."  It was fun to watch them running around drumming up business by asking people to come to their shop.

It was raining and cooler the rest of the week.  We took our umbrellas to music class and had a blast.  It really is a lot of fun to watch the kids learn and grow.  Hyrum and I have been learning more about our bodies in preschool.  He has been really interested to learn about what is inside.  He loved seeing pictures of our skeletons and learning about his joints.  Both kids seem to be growing in leaps and bounds.  Lila doesn't have many words, but we sure do communicate.  She really understands what we ask and can often show us what she wants.  Now, that doesn't mean that she is going to do what we ask, but she understands.

We made a couple of trips to the library this week because of the rain.  Friday the library was busy, because school was canceled due to strong winds.  Wind always worries me here because of all the trees.  In the seven months we have been here I've seen three large tree fall due to wind.  Saturday was Tim's day off and the kids were excited.  They are always excited to see him in the morning.  We made french toast for breakfast.  In the afternoon we made sugar cookies and frosting.  The kids liked licking the beater.  Hyrum also made some Valentine's to hand out to his primary teachers.

Sadly, I don't have any funny stories to share.  Don't get me wrong the kids are funny and do funny things, like Hyrum has been coming out of his room at night after we put him to bed.  We find it funny, because when he comes out you can see the wheels turning in his mind to come up with his excuse.  It's just funny!
