Gender reveal!

Our week passed quickly.  Tim started working nights this week in the covid unit.  It definitely isn't his favorite.  In his words, he is just an "errand boy."  He doesn't actually go in the rooms and see the patients, but calls family and puts in orders.  He will be grateful to be done.  He sleeps all day, so there isn't much to update.

Hyrum spent his time outside playing, riding bikes/scooters, reading, and building.  He has been making "machines" that will do things like change the way you look and freeze you.  It's hard to keep track of which machine does what.  Below is a picture of his ships.  I guess they all hook together to make a super ship.  The big news for Hyrum is he is officially out of pull-ups.  He really hasn't had any issues at night is ages.  It was mostly for my peace of mind.  He does a great job of waking up in the night to go potty if he needs to.  He was very pleased at his next big boy accomplishment.

Both kids were able to spend a great deal of time watching construction.  They watched painters working over several days painting our building and one close.  They really loved when a welder worked right outside their window.  They loved the sparks.  The workers are always great to wave to the kids.  I also caught this picture.  We have been able to get books from our library through a curbside pickup.  Lila is getting better at looking at the pages longer and will sit and look at books when Hyrum does, which is a lot.

Lila continues to learn new words.  She is becoming very independent, which can lead to trouble.  She is starting to string two words together to express herself.  This week's favorite is, "dwink juice."  She also practiced a lot on her bike.  It's always fun to see her improve.

This was a big week for me because I was finally able to get in for the full anatomy ultrasound.  The baby is healthy and made the ultrasound tech's job easy.  Luckily, we were able to find the gender, which is a boy!  Hyrum was beyond happy to be having a brother.  He has declared that we will now have two Hyrums and the next baby will be a girl, so we can have two Lilas.  The kids and I made some flat bread to go with gyros.  They turned out well, but took a lot longer than the recipe stated.  We also made some peanut butter bars that are Tim's favorite.  Hyrum was able to help, which made him very happy.

The kids will be able to watch some more construction next week.  We will also be going swimming.  They finally opened our pool, so the kids will be able to go as much as I have energy.  Tim will have the whole week off, so hopefully he will be able to help.  Here's to another week!
