Lots of big things happening in our house. Hyrum didn't have school on Monday, so he had plenty of quality time with his legos. We/I decided that Monday would be our day to start potty training Lila. She hasn't really shown an interest or signs, but I figured we'd give it a go. We gave it a go and she kind of got, but not really. By Sunday we had our first success of her hitting the toilet when prompted to go to the bathroom. Usually she would have a little accident and then run to the toilet for the rest. It's been a different experience than with Hyrum. We have another week of Tim at home and if she isn't showing more progress then I'm going to have to reevaluate the plan, because I can't just leave her at home to be close the the bathroom when I need to run errands.
Tuesday Hyrum was back at school, with less fuss. We really had a pretty good week of him going to school. He was also able to spend a couple of days doing inside recess, which aloud him to check out the classroom library. He was in heaven.
Lila and I had our first letter lesson. In honor of the letter 'a' we did apple crisp. She had a lot of fun mixing and putting it all together. Hyrum enjoyed the fruits of her labor. You'll have to forgive the underware pictures...potty training woes.
Saturday was Lila's day. We woke up and had crepes for breakfast. She enjoyed her decorated chair and a tasty breakfast before gifts. We opened cards and gifts after we got ready. A couple of gifts we needed to go get them.
We first went to Bath and Body Works where she got to choose her own lotion. She is always going after the lotion Tim and I have, so we thought it would be cute to let her get her own. She settled on a strawberry one. We then walked over to the Walmart for her to choose her big girl bike. She had been ready to transition from her balance bike for a while. She saw the Minnie bike and knew that was the one. She had some time practice outside and by dinner she was doing really well with peddling and turning. We finished off the night with pizza, cake and ice cream. She chose purple cake with purple frosting and it was a hit. I was surprised because the male side of the family put up a stink about the purpleness, but both enthusiastically ate their cake.
Keep your fingers crossed that Tim will get a few more fellowship interviews this coming week. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
