It was another busy week. Tim was on the road for an interview at the beginning of the week. He got home Tuesday afternoon. Everyone was happy to see him, because it had been a long couple of weeks. He put in around 100 hours both weeks. He was able to have fun with the kids and enjoy some of the nice weather.
I feel like the weather here can't decide if it's fall or spring. We had several very nice days in the 70s and some cooler days. One of the most fun things was playing in the leaves. Grounds came by and cleaned up the leaves that have fallen. The put them in a couple of HUGE piles. We took the kids over to play in them and it was so fun to watch the magic of crunching leaves. We took a neighbor friend with us, so it was extra fun. Liam even had fun just sitting and picking up leaves.
Speaking of Liam...he's 1! It's always fun to reflect on their first birthday of what was happening at this time 12 months ago. It's always amazing how much they change and grow in 12 months. His official birthday was on Monday, but we celebrated on Tuesday with Tim.
We did our traditional chocolate banana muffins and gifts after baths. Liam is definitely our most effective muffin eater. The older two didn't really get how to eat it, but Liam started pulling little chunks off. He really enjoyed his first treat and the gifts have been enjoyed by the siblings more than him...as usual. We keep waiting for him to take his first steps. He is so close, but he just loves to crawl. He still gets into everything. He learned how to climb up on the kid chairs, so that's yet another thing I have to watch out for. He's so sneaky!
Hyrum had a full week of school. He continues to be okay with it and seems to enjoy being with all the kids. He had his first lesson in what to do when using your words doesn't work. There was another bus rider that was pestering Hyrum and wouldn't stop. Hopefully, the lesson will stick and he will get up and move next time. He finally have his first talk in primary. He was supposed to do it back in October, but between being sick and than primary program practice it took awhile to get him back on the schedule. He did a great job reading it by himself. He also got to feed Liam! He did a great job helping with breakfast. Liam tends to get super cranky if he isn't downing his food at top speed. This week was even more so, because he went through a growth spurt. In other news, Hyrum has another loose tooth. This time it's his top front tooth. I got so excited because it's almost Christ and he can sing the song about his two front teeth!
Lila had a delicious week! We did the letter 'I' for preschool and made some ice cream. It was fun to watch everything mix and everyone enjoyed a tasty treat. We have been working a lot with her on her speech. It can be really difficult to understand her because of all the articulation errors, but she is getting better at using the correct sounds. She and Liam had well child check-ups this week and we have a referral for speech. We will see if she qualifies. She was very helpful this week with Liam and enjoyed playing outside with friends.
I stayed busy with birthdays, baking, and trying to help a sister I minister to. This next week will be exciting, because of all the delicious food. The kids and I are ready for cranberry salad and I'm super excited for sweet potato casserole!
