We had quite the week with sickness. We had a good run of health, but that ended with both Tim and I getting sick. I was grateful that the kids stayed healthy...let's hope I didn't just jinx myself.
Monday, started off with a discovery. Two weeks ago Liam had a rough go off it at night. There was lots of crying, which resulted in throwing up. He has a sensitive stomach and tends to throw up very easily. We thought it was a sleep regression, but I happened to see what looked to be a tooth cutting the gum on the bottom. Upon closer inspection I realized there were five teeth coming in and three of them were molars. I was super shocked, because the first eight came in one at a time weeks apart. Tim presented at a noon conference for other residents. It will be the last time he has to teach in residency. It's nice that we are getting to the point where we can say it a last!
Tuesday, was another normal day. We played outside for a bit and enjoyed warmer temperatures. That evening I started to feel a little off and ended up most of the night keeping company with bathroom. It was not a pleasant night. I felt super week all the next day and texted Tim to ask him to pick up a few essentials to get us by until I could get back on my feet. I spent my of the day laying on the couch and moving slowly. Lila made comment on how slowly I was moving. I did manage to get out the disinfecting wipes and spray to get all the major surfaces and toys in the hopes that the kids wouldn't get sick. Thursday, I was doing much better, but Tim's throat started hurting. It was still pretty bad on Saturday, so he went to get a covid test and because of that he had to call in and get a sub for Sunday. He's negative and will be back at work on Monday.
We try to keep the kids separate when there is sickness in the house. It's easier said than done when we have so many kiddos so close. We have some cute neighbors that came to visit through the window. It was super sweet and fun for the younger two to have a break with a friend even if they couldn't go out.
Hyrum had a long week at school. It tends to be more difficult if the buses aren't on time. Most of the week he was getting home well after 4 pm. It's so hard when there is so little time to play. When he doesn't get enough time to play there tends to be more emotions. He continues to enjoy swimming, but we have discovered that he can't float. He sinks...like a rock. He is getting more bold with putting his face in the water and using his arms.
Lila continues to up her "three"nager game. She is really pushing buttons and wanting her independence, but doing it all the wrong ways. But, then we have our sweet moments where all is forgiven. She is getting more into singing, which is cute, except when it's during sacrament meeting. I spent a lot of time telling her to sing quietly today as she sang the pictures in the Friend.
Liam spends a lot of time "woofing" and saying shoe. He loves dogs and watching them at the dog park. He is picking up words like crazy and chattering. He isn't as talkative as Hyrum, but he is definitely chatty. He is really getting into books and will sit on our laps to look at books or just look at books himself.
And to top our week of our heater is dead. We were having trouble with the unit freezing over and were scheduled to have it replaced. Instead of it kind of working, it won't even turn on. We have been making due with space heaters in the kids' bedrooms. It will be nice to have heat again soon! Until next week.
