Rainy days!

I realized today that I didn't take any pictures this week.  It wasn't terribly exciting, so I guess it's okay.  Tim continued to struggle with his sore throat.  He took Sunday off as a sick day, because it was hurting so bad.  He went back to work on Monday, but as the week progressed, he ended up loosing his voice completely.  He ended up coming home Thursday afternoon early, because it's kind of hard to talk to patients and call people if you can't talk.  It wasn't until Saturday night when he finally started improving.  It was one of the weirdest/longest sore throats I've ever seen.  But, weird ailments seem to be going around our house.  Hopefully, we will be able to stay healthy for a little bit.

Speaking of ailments, Liam has a different sort of ailment.  We have entered a new phase for him, hitting.  He gets very possessive of people and things that he perceives as his and he will go after anyone with hitting and pulling hair.  It's really hard to manage because he is 15 months and can't talk or reason.  The older two didn't have this issue when they were in this phase (that's a different story now).  I am hoping all the words he is learning will help him to communicate and understand.  I guess another ailment is food spitting.  He spits all his food out and refuses to eat.  The other two went through a food refusal stage, but the spitting is new.  He's just unique...I guess.  Despite his ailments, he is very curious and loves being outside playing in the dirt and looking at dogs.  He got to spend quality time with Tim at church picking up trash and putting it in the trash can and touching every chair in the gym.

Hyrum has had another week of learning.  He has picked up some bad words on the bus that we have had to have some serious discussions about.  His church troubles have continued, but moved to primary.  He doesn't want to go to primary and just wants to stay next to me.  It doesn't work when I am trying to help other kids or talk to parents.  On a brighter note, he is doing well with swimming unsupported.  I was super shocked when he doggie paddled by himself.  He still can't float, but I'm not too worried about that.

Lila has made some improvement with letter recognition.  I feel like the closer we get to the end of the alphabet, the more letters make sense and she can remember their names.  She is still reading to herself and to us.  I have started asking her if she wants to read or if she wants me to read.  It's cute to watch her read the pictures.  She is wanting to help more in the kitchen, which often turns into a battle because Liam wants to see too.  It's amazing how there are some things that just repeat with every child.  Hyrum and Lila used to do kitchen battle too.  Ever the daredevil, she spent a fare amount of time zooming down the small hill behind our apartment.

This coming week is supposed to be warmer and sunnier.  I can't remember if I mentioned this, but our heat went out completely.  The outside unit wouldn't even turn on.  We went about a week with just a couple of space heaters.  They finally came and fixed it.  They ended up replacing everything, the outside unit and the whatever we had in the attic.  It was a multi-hour process, and when it was all said and done we had heat.  While it wasn't pleasant to be cold at night, I'm glad it happened now, when it wasn't too cold and before summer hits and there are long waits to have units repaired.

Until next week!
