Swimming!

Another week down!  I am envious of all the friends and family posting that they are done or finishing up with school.  We still have three weeks to go and we are all ready for the summer!

Tim was an alternate again this week and he somehow managed to have the whole week off.  Last week was pretty rough with nights and being sick, so I was preparing for the worst this week.  I would say we got the best out of the situation.  The weather is definitely heating up and so are the rain storms.  We had several this week.  I snapped this one, because who doesn't need goggles to go running in the rain.  We were all crossing our fingers for the weather to heat up.  There is a family in our ward that opens their pool for anyone to come.  The message went out Friday that they would open it up on Saturday and we all did the dance of joy.

Hyrum seems to have evened out again.  We still have moments where I think we might have trouble, but he is getting on the bus and we don't have too much trouble with negative school talk.  He seems to still be enjoying school once he gets their.  This week he had field day on Friday.  He was super pumped for it and it sounds like it was a blast.  He enjoyed being outside every day after school and less homework, which I am grateful for.

Lila officially ended preschool.  We did a fun preschool activity with a neighbor friend.  His parents needed him out of the house while they did paperwork for their new house.  Lila enjoyed showing him how to do different activities.  She has come a long way and it has been fun to see her grow.  She also had a swim success.  She leveled up!  She is finally putting her head in water and trying to swim by herself.  She was super proud of herself.  We only have a couple more swim lessons, before we will stop for the summer.

Liam had a big week.  It started off with a haircut that turned into a HAIRCUT.  A chunk got taken off by accident, so he became our buzzed baby.  He actually looks pretty good with short hair.  We all like to rub it...including him.  It's a little hard to see because his hair is so blonde.  He continues to go through a major language explosion.  He learns new words every day, but I think our favorite it hug.  I say it's time for bed and he starts repeating hug until everyone has gotten a hug.  He also started nursery.  I was a little nervous, because he is clingy like Lila was, but I was told he went right in without a problem.  I looked in on him later and he was running around chasing bubbles and yelling, "Bubble!"  Tim said he didn't want to leave the bubbles or balls, so I think we are going to be okay.

One of the things I was most excited about this week was the arrival of our new vacuum.  My big goal this summer is to get the kids more independent and contributing more to helping the family run.  We have already been working on simple things like making sandwiches, putting clean clothes away, and making beds.  This vacuum is cordless and light enough that the kids can help do carpets and the kitchen.  The canister also detaches and the kids can help vacuum the van.  Lila vacuum the van this week and did a great job.  Well worth the money!

I was released from the primary and called back to the primary.  I am the only hold out from the previous presidency.  It should be an interesting summer helping the new presidency get the hang of things, while keeping track of teachers and kids.  Our primary has pretty much been gutted of teachers.  I think we will have two teachers left when the dust settles at the end of June.

Saturday the kids woke up bright and early for swimming.  I think they came in around 6:30 already in their swimsuits saying, "Happy swim day!".  They had several hours to wait.  They loved swimming and did great.  Hyrum was independent in the shallow end.  Lila was so ready that the first thing she did was jump off the diving board into the deep end.  Luckily, she had her puddle jumper on because Tim and I hadn't even set our swim stuff down before we heard a splash.  Liam didn't do as well in the water as he did last year.  I had a baby floaty thing that he just chilled in.  He wasn't really happy until Tim took him in the tube.  It's hard to see in the picture, but Liam is so relaxed he is almost asleep.

Well, that's all from us!
