Speedy week!

The week went by quickly.  I'm not sure where the days went.  We did manage to pick up another bug, so the younger two were more grouchy during the week.  Hyrum and I started getting sick on Friday, so we ended up staying home from church.  It seems no matter how hard I try to wash hands and do all the things that keep us healthy, we still get sick.  At least we made it three weeks this time.

Tim had another busy week.  He leaves earlier in the morning and comes home later in the evening, usually after the kids go to bed and sometimes closer to when I am heading to bed.  He rinses and repeats every day all week long.  We have about two and a half more months and hopefully things will calm down.

Hyrum continues to enjoy school.  This week we started multiplication.  He is learning the very basics, but we went and got him some flashcards to practice, because he was showing signs of readiness.  We will probably just focus on the easiest ones to skip count.  We will be finishing up our mammals unit this week and we are planning a little field trip to our local science museum because they have a small mammals exhibit.  We tried going once, but most of the animals were inside, so we didn't get to really see any.

Lila continues to enjoy writing and learning ABCs.  She got in trouble several times this week because she was coloring on things that she wasn't supposed to like her clothes.  Seriously, she turned four and all common sense left!  Her tantrums are definitely more easy to manage than Hyrum's.

We made several trips to the library this week.  Twice because Hyrum plowed through his books, too fast and once for our homeschool activity.  I am always so impressed.  This week was cooking and each child got to make butter.  Another mom brought fresh herbs and Lila chose to put some in her butter.  Both were very tasty and by the end all the moms were shaking jars while the kids were playing tag.  Apparently, ten minutes is too much shaking time.

Liam usually hangs out in the stroller, because I can't help the older two and keep him safe.  This week he switched between looking at pictures and hiding behind his book.  It was kind of cute.  He always enjoys tasting the food.  Liam has been playing more with the older two.  Sometimes it's a little scary because they can be rough.  I am constantly reminding them to be careful.  Liam is pretty fearless and just jumps right in to whatever the older kids are doing.  He also learned how to climb the ladder on the bunkbed.  He's very good at getting up and not so good at getting down.  On one of our library trips there was a therapy dog visiting.  Hyrum did really well with petting the dog and Lila did a couple of fast touches.  Liam loudly declared, "Scared mama, scared."  He still has an aversion to dogs.  He was knocked down a couple of times by a neighbor's hyper puppy and he hasn't recovered.

While we had a really hot week, things cooled off by Friday.  The trees know it's fall and have started shedding leaves.  The kids spent HOURS collecting leaves to make a pile big enough to jump in

We are all looking forward to when the leaves start falling from the big trees.  We had some pretty epic leaf piles to play in last year.

Besides keeping up with school, the kids, and getting sick, I also had a doctor's appointment.  Today makes 20 weeks...the half way point.  I had the full anatomy and everything looks good.  We found out we are having another boy, which totally shocked me.  This pregnancy has been very similar to Lila's so I thought for sure it was a girl.  Well, it's a boy.  It's really hard to imagine another boy running around the house, but in about five months we will have three of them...four if you include Tim.

We are excited for conference and getting ready for lots of meetings.  Until next week!
