Naps all around!

I am excited to be writing at the close of a very busy two weeks.  Tim has spent almost more time away (out of state) from home than at home.  I think we were all feeling it towards the end of the week.  Thankfully, technology allows the kids to see dad even if it's on a tiny screen.

Tim spent the end of the week interviewing in Arkansas.  He thinks things went well and we are hoping they send a contract soon.  Tim liked all the physicians and management and seemed to get along well with everyone.  He also had the chance to meet with several doctors from the local ward and get the scoop from that perspective, which was helpful.  He won't travel again until he leaves for Vermont in January, but he'll have plenty of games to attend between now and then.  Though he should be wrapping up high school football and soccer in the next couple of weeks.

Hyrum has started working with numbers beyond 100.  He really is a math kid.  I feel like it won't be too long and he will be beyond me.  I continue to see improvements and general contentment with his learning, which has been refreshing.  One thing we started working on was researching all things Thanksgiving.  We have spent the last couple of weeks learning about different aspects of Thanksgiving.  His job this next week is to take the information and synthesize it into his own nonfiction book.  It'll be interesting to see how he does.  He continues to love playing with friends outside and mom doesn't love all the mud that has to be washed out of of clothes as we enter the wet season.

Lila continues to do her Lila thing.  She also loves to cover her clothes in mud and grass stains.  She continues to do well in preschool and has started writing "notes."  It's fun to see her write her letters and to have her tell me what the note says.  Lila continues to enjoy singing.  She loves to belt out a tune...just not during primary programs.  She woke from a nap one afternoon singing.  It was really funny and sometimes I wonder what she dreams about.

Liam is full of mischief.  He turns two this coming week, which is crazy.  I call him my little bear, because he is my hugger/cuddler.  Well, sort of, as much as a little two year will hug and cuddle.  He chats up a storm and we understand what he is saying for the most part.  And wouldn't you know, he loves to get muddy too.  Hyrum and Lila had fun this evening decorating his chair for his birthday.  We are going to celebrate a day early, so that Tim can join in all the fun.

I survived the last two weeks.  It is not good for dads to be gone for long periods of time!  The kids did a really good job and for the most part they are used to Tim not being around.  I think Liam struggles the most.  He is much more clingy with Tim when he is home after being gone or less present due to working.  I think he is more clingy than all of our kids so far.  He sometimes struggles in nursery like today.  He was not having being dropped off, so I had to go in and sit for a while with him.  I was able to sneak out after a few minutes.  We also had our primary program today, which went well.  We had a hard start to the morning, as I slept through my alarm and woke up much later than usual.  Luckily, the older two were champs and got ready quickly without trouble...which we usually have.  They were super pumped for the primary after party.  I refused to tell Hyrum what we were having, because mom is the ultimate secret keeper...despite what some may say.  It was worth it, because they were so excited when they say popcorn and fruit snacks.

Until next week!
