Dad is home!

It was great to have Tim home this week.  The kids have really been missing him.  Even though he worked every day he was home mostly in the evenings, to see the kids. We have officially made it to 40 weeks.  Tim described it well with this beauty...

I truly don't think anything will happen for another week or so, but sometimes I wish this one would come a little earlier.  Until the blessed day comes, we keep checking things off my list, which at this point is all icing on the cake and fielding comments and questions about still not having a baby.

We had some amazing weather this week.  It really didn't feel like winter and it seems like we won't have any snow at all.  The kids enjoyed eating lunch outside almost every day and playing for a couple of hours outside.  Downside is that I had to be out with them and I don't move as fast as I used to.  Mom is definitely a slowpoke!

Lila has had a math explosion.  Hyrum is pretty big into being asked math problems and she wanted some as well.  It took her a bit to understand getting some and taking some away, but she does really well with numbers to six...as long as she isn't distracted and as use fingers for support.  I have said it many times before, but I always loved it when the kids get knew concepts.  It opens up a whole new world for them.  She continues to do well with the alphabet and finds our new topic of the body very interesting.  She was cutting one day this week and said, "Hey mom!  Look at my spine!"

We went to our homeschool learning lab this week and were delightfully surprised by geese.  Liam loves to find geese.  For some reason there is a small flock that hangs out at our local Walmart and he always get super pumped to see them.  The younger two spent quite a bit of time watching and listening to them honk at one another.  Liam continues to learn new words, is getting better at turning pages, is developing a sense of humor, and loves wrestling with his siblings.  I don't love the last one, because it usually ends in someone getting hurt and some level of yelling.

Lila has also started playing with my hair again.  She goes in waves, but as a sensory child she loves to have her fingers running in hair.  She is getting better at being gentle and putting in hair ties and clips without pulling hair.

Hyrum has gone through another rough patch of behavior.  He struggles with managing his emotions and recently they seem to be even more excessive than his normal excessive.  But, we manage and continue to move forward.  He is doing very well with school, and is very excited to start studying geology this coming week.  He has literally been waiting since the beginning of the school year and he is so excited. We only have about three more months of school and then we will have completed our first year of homeschooling.  This was one of his many creations this week.  He is always building something or creating some new gadget.  He has started saying that he wants to be a robotics engineer when he grows up.  I can totally see it, but he has quite a few years to exploration to do before he has to decide on anything.

Until next week!
