Two weeks and we are all still alive!

It was a crazy week with starting school again, but we managed to make it through.  I was really grateful that Tim was home to help with the transition.  We have two more weeks with him home, before he goes back to work.  Hopefully, those two weeks will help us get into a routine.

We are going to make some changes to school in the coming weeks, because four kiddos at home is pretty crazy.  We only have nine weeks until the end of school.  We have spring break and our testing week included in that.  I don't think Hyrum realizes just how close he is to being a second grader.  He struggled a bit this week with getting back into school mode.  I hoping he can last the last few weeks, because we are so close to being done with school!  He enjoyed lots of outside time thanks to Tim being home.  He also got to go swimming with Tim.  The report is that he did well and didn't seem to forget too much.  With Tim being home, Hyrum has also spent a lot more time with Spanish (duolingo).  He is really improving, especially with his accent.

Lila will get to go swimming with Tim this coming week.  She is really looking forward to swimming, especially since she gets to skip a nap.  She continues to do well with her schooling and almost has all of her letters and sounds.  I think she will be ready to read next year, which is always my favorite part of schooling.  She continues to assert her independence to not listen.  Come to think of it, all the kids are asserting their independence to not listen.  It's super frustrating and the kids spend a lot of time experiencing the consequences of not listening.  She still enjoys holding and talking to Owen.  She is gaining confidence and loves to get up close and personal.

Liam has been super gentle with Owen, which is a relief.  We spend a lot of time correcting him because he throws everything at anyone or anything, tackles, and is pretty rough in general.  He's cute and cuddly with the heart of a linebacker.  He won't be going swimming with Tim, because he will not be skipping a nap.  Instead, we gave him some goggles, which he wore all day every day.  He is such a goof sometimes.  He wants to be independent and make his own choices.  He is getting more articulate with his feelings and emotions, which is helpful in helping him working through his emotions.  He has big two year old emotions.

The weather cooled off a bit at the end of the week and we had rain on Friday.  Our go to for rainy days in yoga.  We were shocked when Liam started doing it with the older two and was actually doing the poses.  The weather cooled off so much that we ended up having a little bit of snow on Sunday.  We was definitely a North Carolina little bit, because you had to search for the small buildup of snow.  I didn't think we would have any because we are half way through March, but we got a little.

Owen is struggling to flip his schedule.  I am also struggling with this.  We've had a few good nights, but at this stage of newborn a few good nights is never enough on the scale of well rested to sleep deprivation.  We've had some major throw up, but I am still holding out hope that he won't be as bad as the others.  He's super cute and we are all waiting for him to perk up a little, so we can interact more with him and see his personality.

Until next week!
