Fair and food adventures!

We'll start off with an Owen update.  He hit seven months this week.  He seems to be hitting lots of developmental milestones.  He has become much more mobile.  He can pull himself very efficiently and has taken a couple of crawling motions.  He also got from the floor to a sitting position and is getting more stable in sitting.  He also started making more sounds.  He also started waking up again at night, not that he ever really stopped.  I had a few days of waking up just once until he was back at 3+ times.  We don't particularly enjoy hanging out with him in the middle of the night, but it seems to be his thing.  His hair is big and crazy and his dimples are super cute.  Here comes another month

We also went to fair again this week.  This time it was the Arklahoma state fair.  It was bigger than the county fair, but still much smaller than we are used to.  There are pros and cons.  One pro is that lines are very short if they exist at all.  A con is that rides aren't as much fun if you are the only one riding them.

One event that I thought was a little funny and reminded that we were in a small, southern town is the freedom ride.  Nothing says freedom like riding in a monster truck with flags waving.  I was a little disappointed in the craft area.  I really enjoy looking at the crafts that locals make.  They really didn't have anyone selling their wares, which was sad.  But, such is life.

The kids started their second six weeks.  They seemed to do well with increasing the pace.  Hyrum pushed back a little because it was taking in a little longer if finish assignments, but I think he can handle an extra 30 minutes of school.  We will continue with the pace and see where we are in five more weeks.  The weather is still surprisingly hot.  Google said the weather was comparable to North Carolina, but I don't think Google knows was it's talking about.  We were still in the 90s all week and I really can't wait until it cools off officially.

Tim continues to work on things at the clinic.  They are in the process of hiring a couple of MAs.  Hopefully that will happen soon.  The second sports doc will start in November and Tim is trying really hard to get things set up so the office flow doesn't slow down.  He likes to hospital, but things just take time and you have to stay on top of things.  Tim has been getting up with Liam in the middle of the night.  He is doing better this week with going back to bed after going potty in the middle of the night, but after a couple of hard nights with Liam and Owen I snapped this.  He looks like he is actively reading, but he is definitely asleep!

This week the kids and I went to check out a produce warehouse.  The only complaint I have about Fort Smith is the produce.  It is really low quality and don't taste very good or last long at all.  It's pretty universal between all the stores.  I wasn't super impressed and unfortunately not worth second trip to the store with four kids.  It made me really wish we had a house, so I can have a garden.  I just want some lettuce that's not wilted!  I also had a couple of  baking firsts.   Pies aren't my usual, but we were inspired by storytime last week.  We made an apple time.  It didn't look super pretty, but it tasted good.  Lila and Liam a funny with treats.  They didn't really like the pie.  Hyrum happily ate their portions.  I also made asiago bagels.  They are Tim's favorite and they turned out well.

That's all from us.  October here we come!
