Merriest of Christmases and a Happy New Year!

It's been quite the week.  Tim commented that he couldn't believe it was the Christmas blog, because Christmas seemed weeds ago.  I agree.  Times seems to just fly and most of the time I can't figure out where it's going.

We had an enjoyable Christmas actually celebrating on Christmas.  It's crazy to think that for the foreseeable future we will be celebrating all holidays and birthdays on their actual dates.  The kids were up early looking at their stockings.  There was much excitement.  We held the kids off for a little while waiting for Owen, but he slept in.  We saved all his presents to be opened later when he woke up.  He has decided to start sleep in later in the morning, which is nice, but it means we are figuring out a new schedule with him down to one nap.

The kids played with toys the rest of the day and prepared for consuming cranberry salad and rolls.  We had other things as well, but those two seemed to be what the kids kept checking in on the most to see if was time to eat them yet.  Everyone went to be with full bellies.

Tim had the following day off as well, so it was nice to have him home to play with the kids.  He went back to work the rest of the week.  The rest of the week we played and fit in normal routine things.  Throughout this time we had sick and teething kids.  We seem to be cycling through several things.  I was hoping that Liam was our last to get a cold, but Lila started having a runny nose today, which means we have something else going through.  She was sick about two weeks ago.  Owen cut two more teeth.  We were surprised to see one on the bottom, because we have been waiting for two on the top to come in.  He has the most random teething pattern.  I've decided he's our worst teether.  He just gets so uncomfortable and wakes frequently at night.  He gets clingy to me, which means I am flying solo with him every couple of hours.  Tim and I have a system.  I take Owen and he takes Liam.  Between the two kids we don't sleep much at night.  Bring on Spring!

Some other highlights of the week.  The kids enjoyed eating way more sugar than they normally eat.  Liam was funny, because the kids traded suckers to try out different flavors.  He had one sucker in each hand.  Can you guess which colors he had?

Owen also turned 10 months.  Whoot!  He was super hard to get a picture of...like normal.  We turned to the magic box and managed to get this one.  For as little as he lets me sleep at night, he sure it a cutie!

I stayed home from church with the younger two day, because Liam was only on day two of his cold.  We did our home church and went for a brisk stroller ride in search of geese.  Liam is our budding ornithologist.  He wanted to find geese.  We searched all the places we typically seem them.  I told him we were out of luck today.  Minutes later he shouted, "Geese!"  I was looking everywhere, but didn't see any until he pointed up in the sky.  Sure enough he found his geese.

We kept it low key for our celebrating.  The kids shot off some poppers to bring in the new year and then we sent them to bed.  Pretty boring.  I'm sure we will get more exciting the older they get.

Wishing everyone a new year of joy!
