A roller coaster week!

Healthy hasn't been a word to describe our family the past couple of weeks.  We started off the week with Lila sick.  She spent a lot of time laying on the couch because she just didn't feel well.  I in turn did lots of laundry to keep up with all the sickness.  Tim and Hyrum also got sick this week with congestion and sore throats.  Liam is the only one who didn't get sick, which makes me wonder if he wasn't the one to bring it home.  He was sick a few weeks ago with similar symptoms.  Who knows through, because there is so much going around right now.

The one positive thing this week was the weather.  We were in the 70s for most of the week.  The kids enjoyed jumping outside and eating smoothies outside.  By the end of the week, everyone was feeling better, so we went to the playground down the street to play.  It was so nice for all of us to just be outside enjoying the sun!

Hyrum was able to receive his yellow belt this week.  He was super excited about it.  We are starting to collect belts, something I never imagined I would have to find space for.  It's fun to see him working so hard and enjoying the skills he has learned.  I don't enjoy it when he used it on his siblings, because there is plenty of tears from kids.

Lila was still feeling sick on her dance day.  She was sad to miss it, but I don't think she would have had the energy.  She was super excited to finish up some of her math books this week.  We are very quickly transitioning to kinder material.  It's so fun to see her learning new skills.  This is the time that I love!

Liam was healthy all week, but very ornery.  He tends to do what he wants and apologize later.  Like this week he spent a lot of time in his room for getting into food that he shouldn't have.  There were cookies that he ate a double portion of after I told him no, cooling food that he spilled on the counter because he wanted to touch it after I told him no, and so much salt everywhere!  That child is going to be the death of me!  I told him to stop licking the salt shaker, so what does he do?  He shakes tons of salt on the counter, so he can lick the counter.

I don't know why Owen was awake so much at night.  He was awake a lot this week.  He's awake a lot at night every week.  He still doesn't want Tim at night.  Whenever Tim tries to help, Owen just cries and tries to find me.  He learned how to open the cupboards this week.  I feel like he's been on the verge of figuring it out for awhile, so we baby proofed the doors to try to keep the mess at a minimum.  It's funny to watch him try to get in.  He knows there is stuff in there and he wants it, but he just can't get the doors open.  He is getting really good at giving fives and knuckles.  He also seems to have hit is stride with eating big people food.  We have been working hard on transitioning away from baby food and he wasn't having it.  This week something clicked and he was more open to trying new foods.  There is plenty that he still turns his nose up at, but at least he is trying new things.

Tim and I stayed busy with callings.  Both of us are feeling better.  It's never good when both parents are sick at the same time.  He went to a Mercy physician gathering and met some new people.  This week will be busy with much of the same plus we are adding stake conference.

Until next week!
