Happy Mother's day to all the women who who impact the world around them for good! It was certainly a day for us and hopefully you as well...maybe with a little less fighting from kids.
We had quite the week at our house. Most of the week was marked by calmer children and less fighting, but that was due to sickness. Lila was the first to fall and the rest just feel like dominos. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but it was a terrible virus. The kids ran fevers for two to three days and all of them have really bad sounding coughs. Poor Liam always gets hit the worst with these types of sicknesses. He woke up multiple times a night coughing. Tim and I took turns being up with him.
To top things off with Liam, he slipped on the tile in our house and cut open his chin. It wasn't as deep as Hyrum's cut, so we drove him to see doctor dad to assess things. Tim put some "stickers" on it to keep it closed. It seems to be healing nicely. I'm just glad we didn't have to make an emergency room trip. We were minutes away from leaving for dance, so Lila had to miss her dance class.
We are all ready for school to be over. It's time for a long break. This coming week will be our last. I'm not sure who is more excited...me or the kids. We will continue to do little bits here and there, but the kids will have more free time.
It did a little rearranging this week. Owen was sleeping in our room, but I cleaned up the fourth bedroom for him to nap in. Eventually we will get rid the pacifier and he and Lila will share a room at night. I also moved all the homeschool stuff out of the closets to our room. I wanted easier access to things and it allows the kids to actually use their closets. I also pulled out some of their books for next year so I cant put them in their boxes and the kids were naturally curious. It's funny how the kids really want to get a look at everything they will be working on next year.
Owen is slowly starting to walk more. He's taking about 7-8 steps now. He's our first child where I wonder if I should have concerns. He just doesn't walk very well. He's progress, if he makes any, is always slow. But, he's darn cute!
I have started working on my food storage goal. I've decided that I am going to choose one aspect of our food each month and get at least a six months supply. It's been fun for me to start working on this goal, because it's something that I have wanted to do for so long. The other news is we went to look at a house that was amazing. We ended up putting an offer in and their was a second offer that we didn't want to compete with. It was a little sad, but probably for the best.
So to sum up the week...all the kids were sick, almost had an ER visit, Tim spoke in church, and we almost bought a house. I really hope we aren't as busy next week!
